what racing pipes are the best

i have stock exhaust and i am looking to put in a test pipe. ive done alot of research and found alot. I have found very little on how much horsepower and torque i will gain. i was just wondering which test pipe sounds the best and adds the most hp and torque. thank you

The best is to take everything out. No pipes or whatever. But just remember to put some ear protection on cuz u're gonna be deaf in maybe 5 minutes.

Go RacingBeat and buy one.

don't get the rp supercat...the rp straight pipe is good. Just about any straight pipe you put on the rx8 will be incredibly loud

i would buy any of them as long as they are catless... it seems as if all the high-flow cat pipes are burning up real quick... not exactly worth the price tags in my opinion. i have a b&b resonated pipe w/ no cat on a stock exhaust. my only complaint is the smell... but, the sound is great... just a little louder than stock.

I have 30K on my RP supercat, it's still going strong. It also reportedly has a flow capacity of 650cfm, that far exceeds NA Renesis.

that means nothing, it's still more of a restriction than a midpipe and doesn't make as much power, there are cats out there that will equal a midpipe performance, they cost a lot more

Anyone know of a 3" pipe w/ resonator (no cat) that has a hanger on it? From my searches it seems like I might be outa luck.

RP - 3" no hanger
RX-8store - 3" no hanger
B&B - 2-1/2" w/ hanger
Racing Beat - 3" w/ hanger but no resonator

I'm thinking of just going with the RB one and if its too loud I'll get a resonator put in later.

if you get the racing beat one, try to get their pre muffler and have that welded on. it does miracles on the sound levels and tone. i have one on my FC. i was thinking about doing it on my 8, but i have concerns about scca legality.

High flow metal core cats are the issue why they are burning up or getting clogged. Ceramic core will last longer. If you are running as rich as I think you are suggesting then no high flow cat will last.
