What is the Most Quiet Midpipe?

I've done some searches, found mostly catback questions referring to noise. I want to know what the most quiet catless midpipe is when mated to a completely stock exhaust. I'm not going to get a catback or anything, I just want to get a midpipe to delete the cat since I have an AP and I'm going to be getting a tune that I'm told will (in time) destroy my cat.

If there are already links made that compare ALL of the major existing midpipes via db at certain speeds, you can link me up too.

Thanks.

Mazport Dual Resonated Midpipe. That's the quietest midpipe on the market for the 8's so far.

If you intend to kill the cat eventually, just gut it now.

The empty cat chamber is HUGE, and forms an effective second resonator.

Much of the 'noise' of an aftermarket midpipe comes THROUGH the metal - no amount of resonators will cut the ping sounds escaping right out of the thin stainless.

The stocker is made of thick (4mm?) steel and has heat shields on it, and though I've never done a db measure, I guarantee it will be quiter than any two-resonator pipe......

Downside would be weight, but it's still less than 30 pounds, so maybe a 15 pound penalty (I figured if you aren't doing the catback, you aren't hard-core on weight.)

If you go that route then get your inspections done now, as a gutted cat wont pass anything.

Absolutely - no denying, but he says he intends to 'kill' the cat anyway, so I presumed he is (like me) in a no-inspection jurisdiction.

Yeah I live in FL, no emissions for me.

Does anyone know how many db the Mazsport dual resonated produces on a stock catback?

I'd rather not gut the cat, as it seems to cause a sudden change in air flow where as the midpipe is more even. Also, does this midpipe cause that 'awful smell' ?

Does anyone know who supplies a mazsport dual resonated midpipe? I went to mazsport's webpage and they don't have any online purchasing or event product views, hell, half of their links don't even work.

I know someone has a used one for sale but he's unwilling to ship and there are about 10 guys beating down the door to get it, so who carries them and for how much?

Wait for the racing beat dual resonated mid-pipe to come out. They always build quality items and if it is anything like their revi exhaust it will have very thick tubing.

"that awful smell" occurs when the catalytic converter is removed; which is what the mazsport is: a catless midpipe

mazsport has since gone out of business/bankrupt and you can only get them from existing members.

Fluid Motorsports carries a dual resonated midpipe from Agency Power. I dont know the stats on the pipe, but Fluid Motorsports is a vender on this forum, so I would check under the vendors section. Here's the link for thier website. Its about half-way down the page.

Loud, tons of rasp... construction quality wasnt up to my standards... basically avoid this midpipe unless you like your car sounding like a mating call for the ricer honda fanbois out there... Im throwing mine in the trash the SECOND bhr or rb come out with theirs...

Mazsport used Racing Beats resonators. Now that Mazsport is out of business, they (Racing Beat) are improving the overall design and should be out sometime this year.

Also Corksport is coming out with a dual res midpide which should be out this year (Summer??).

it wasnt the midpipe that prevented the CEL, it was car not seeing the missing midpipe that prevented the CEL. Some people have ahd good luck trying the spark plug de-fouler trick
