What Aftermarket Catalytic Converter is this?

I just recently bought this car, and I was wondering what brand of cat this is on my rx8. I have googled it for a couple hours now and cannot seem to figure it out. Does anyone here know what brand this is? Thanks

I'm not seeing any of the tell-tale heat shielding of most cats so I'm thinking that might be a catless midpipe? Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks for the reply. I honestly cannot figure it out. I showed it to my local rotary club, and none of them had ever seen anything like this. One member thought it might be something custom.

Yeah, it really doesn't look like a cat at all. Can you drop it down from the exhaust manifold and look inside?

I might try that this weekend. I haven't really had time to mess with it too much this week. I think you are right though, because it outputs mega smell from the exhaust. lol

That doesn't really help me. I've come to determine that it is just some custom thing the previous owner built. The car's exhaust actually sounds good, so I don't think it is a POS brand or aftermarket at all.

This right here is your first problem

Does it work? Yes!. But more importantly

Will it last? No!

I just looked at some pics of cherry bombs, and even they look better than whatever this is. I guess I'm just going to have to take it off and look inside. Hopefully it is empty.
