The supercharger exhaust mod is for people that get a supercharger for the sound. Give 'em a break

People bash this Weapon R thing and this company all to hell...but what have the other intakes got us?

...not much with all their fancy design, so I guess this fancy design is just the wipping boy for all those disappointed by other less than stellar performance improvements?

so check out this test towards the bottom of the page http://www.needintake.com/ ...looks as valid an arguement as any to improve flow....at least it is based on some type of scientific arguement. I wish someone would get one and see if it works well or not....or maybe someone has???

Disclosure: I don't own any form of aftermarket intake.... other than a hi-flo filter

I met the guy that owns the test car for the intake when it first came out. Apparently it netted a pretty nice gain on the dyno from what he told me and he got the intake for free. So I don't think the company is as bad as everyone makes it.

yeah look at the $1300 one of the magazines sunk into the rx8 with racing beat (godlike to some) stuff and gained an insane 8whp while the turboXS full zaust is just at 1000 and gains 21whp so whos to say this intake, though from a small company, won;t outperform all available to us now.

I definitely think all you folks who believe that crap should IMMEDIATELY go out and buy their intake. And buy the turboXS exhaust while you're at it. 21 whp with exhaust ALONE? On an 8? Not buying it.

jds

PS: This refers to the posts touting articles or brother's friend's cousin who had it on the dyno, NOT Tamas' post immediately preceding mine.

ok i was overshooting my numbers lemme re state it was $970 and 4.2whp if you don;t believe me read the latest issue of import tuning. and even RB agrees with gains so why would i lie

and it wasnt' my uncles cousins friends whatever. before you make smart *** comments do your research

i'm sure polack can verify it for me since his was one of the cars tested

here is the thread and the 21whp was over stock

now if you read all the thread you will see that the turboXS exhaust does stand up to its claims. most people complain bout the tips though.

now i was never saying the weapon r intake works. all i'm saying is that sometimes you have to just try something different from the tried and true old skool cause obviously its not always the best. hell i plan on gettign a few things from racing beat in the future. their quality is top notch

I never said you were lying, and I'm not going to "research" your uncle's cousin's friend's lineage. Its easier to make smartass comments.

Now, I can still not believe something without saying you're lying right? I am just saying you're wrong! Sorry...if you're not scientific about it, you can make even dynos say anything you want. 21 whp w/ a cat-back ONLY on this car? Nope. Now, I haven't gone and read your referenced thread, so for all I know they had other stuff on there, or their exhaust isn't just a cat-back, etc...I don't know. But if it is, and they didn't...I don't believe it. Sorry!

Alright, I read your goddamned link. I reject it all because it doesn't fit my preconceived world view! So there.

Seriously...pretty thorough and plenty of 3rd party participation in the testing. I'm still confused that its possible, but....nah. Its easier to just believe you are all liars!

I find the whole idea of 21whp hard to believe also, but TurboXS had a lot of witnesses to lay claim to this and posted their results.

Also, a long time before that RX7.com posted their results on their website and for their midpipe/catback combo claimed the same figures:
http://rx7.com/RPGReddyRX8exhaust/

Personally, I've found both to be very reputable, and that their claims are so similar is hard to ignore.

alright how about this? stfu with that maybe? you can make those "civics" damn fast with the correct mods, YEs you can dump money on anything and make it fast

BUt enough is enough, One day your gonna mess with the wrong "civic" and yeah your going to get your *** handed to you.

get nice old school hatch drop a K-series engine in it. and say bye bye to evos and stis , obviously not a stock evo n sti, but hey GO ahead Start putting bolt on's on the engine, put some IPS K2 Cams, Type-R final drive, Hondata K-Pro.

or better yet Drop the Hytech kit 300whp N/A

the thing is you see so many riced out civics that the poor car has a bad rep.

and if anyone here wants to beg to differ? Go to any with a well moded civic and race them in your precious rx8

Sure i have an 8 as well , but i dont go around saying oh its just a civic its rice blah blah,

POINT IS civics , have potential

I am terribly sorry to revive this long-dead thread but i can't let a comment like that go unpunished MUCH LESS encouraged.
Comparing a Civic to an STi is a BIG stretch but comapred to an 8?! You must be our of your freaking mind. pretty much no matter what you do (within reason) to a civic it will STILL be a souped up grocery getter. People who drive 8's don't do so for drag performance, that's for mustang drivers (read: idiots). It would be retarded. The whole design of the 8 is for balance and handling. Put your magical made up civic against a stock 8 on a auto-x track (or any non-oval, non straight track for that matter) and it's not even a question that your FWD **** box with a rocket strapped to it would be humiliated. (more so then just being seen in a monstrosity like that anyway) and the same goes with the AWD STi or even a WRX, I'd be willing to wager. take all the dyno numbers and keep them by your pillow to help you sleep at night, but Power is NOTHING without control. FWD is for those who don't know any better (or people payed to hype fwd cars by company's/sponsors)

By all means, you want to drive a civic, drive a civic more power to you, but don't try to compare a barley drivable FWD ECONOMY CAR with the turning ability of my wheelchair bound grandmother, to a RWD 50/50 well engineered out of the box race car for under 25k.

And on this board of all places.....

i would GLADLY drag race your made up civic and lose every time, then have to suffer through actually having to drive it.
after my 8 you couldn't pay me to drive an fwd.

and on a side note search youtube for the TopGear review of the RX-8. These guys drive top dollar sport and exotic cars. The host clearly states it is the "Best handling car he has EVER driven" and then it goes on to tie the track time of an M3 (with over 100 MORE torque AND HP then it self)

I'm sorry to go off like this but some one had to.

civic indeed......

end rant.
