Cool The Turbonator???

Ok I am not that good with like mechanics and know every part of a car like some people do, but I was reading about this turbo for cars like the RX8 that says it will give you 35 more horse power and help you save gas. When I saw this it sounded pretty good. The price for it is only 80.00 which seems pretty cheap. If any one has heard of this, please give me some better facts or somthing.

Thx

147mph isn't enough? I rarely get up to 80.

A couple of questions first:
Do you want to void your warranty?
Are you patient?
How much are you willing to spend?
Do you have A/T or M/T?

ok, yeah I know 147 mph is enough, but I am always racing. It is the biggest rush. What I really want is to excelerate faster. My car is m/t and I am patient. I am going to be doing this upgrade in about a year and half, so I am not in a rush. The most I would spend is about one thousand dollars. I am not going to void my warranty this early. I would appreciate some info on some nice turbo kits or any sort of upgrades. Thx

Yeah, 'cuz that's what a 17yo needs is more speed . Spend your money on a track time/drivers school- you'd be surprised to find out you are the missing performance mod.

Any turbo kit is going to be considerably more than $1k- try $5k. And it will void much of your warranty.

I don't think you're going to find a turbo for 1000 or less, and it will void the **** out of your warrany

I'd flagged tht BS as soon as I read it. More POWER & Saves gas... sounds like BS to me.

I don't think $1000.00 will buy you a turbo or supercharger system.

Dang, maybe I should find an RX8 club with out members the same age as my father. lol. I dont race in like busy streets. My dad is a dairy man and live in the middle of no where. We are about the only people who drive on that road. To me tricking out my ride is what matters. I might as well do it now while I dont have too many bills to pay. So dont get ur panties in a bunch because I am 17yrs of age and trying to make my car faster then the rest. Not my problem I started working young for a car in stead of waiting till I was 30 yrs old to get off my *** and earn somthing. Dont take that personal.

Hey, that's cool if you pay for it, but just remember cars are expensive hobbies. Not only that, but this particular car is very pricey on performance parts. So be ready to spend alot. 1000 dollars is better spent on suspension components. And as mentioned, a turbo is going to cost around 5,000 dollars. Chalk it up to there not being hardly any choices yet, but the car is in its infancy so chill out.

Street racing is bad, but it's your life, and if you hurt someone else you're gonna have to live with it. It's cool that your parents helped you buy such a nice car at a young age, but remember responsibility comes along with that territory. I'm not even close to your father's age, I'm 24, but I think you are a bit young to own a car of this calibre...let alone one with a turbo. But if you are mature about it, then that's cool....street racing doesn't make you sound very mature though.

Sorry a 35yo has advice- I guess you have all the answers you need at your age . And I won't take it personally since it doesn't describe me at all, but it does reaffirm what I thought about you.

F7.

I'd echo the sentiments: You are not nearly experienced enough a driver to handle the power of the car you have - stop trying to make your car faster. First, become a better driver.

LOL, I agree, I am making myself sound like an immature, wreckless driver. I just dont agree with comments about me being too young for this car, especially when I worked and payed for it myself. I didnt sit around and get it handed to me. My parents wouldnt even let me get anything to get my car faster yet. I am speaking for the future. I dont think I am 17 yr. old kid who knows it all. Thats why I asked for advice from you older generations, whick has led me to believe that making my car faster is unnecisary. Just for the record I am a safe driver and I wont get any one hurt or killed. I drive the speed limit and my parents keep close watch on me so dont think they are bad parents. Well, do you guys disagree with an X-men spoiler, or am I just too YOUNG for one. lol.

If you have the money and you like it go ahead. It's up to you. I suggest you go to the multimedia section and look at other people's rides for some good ideas. Also check out the tech section for go fast goodies. Forced induction has been a topic on here for a while. I'd do a search for that as well. Get to know the car before upgrading.

I suppose I would rather get ground effects, a spoiler, or some graphics of some sort, but I am not in a hurry to do anything in my car but drive and enjoy its perfect sound. lol, when I first got my car I slept in it the first night. I have never slept that well.

fwiw, it's 'paid'.

And honestly? Nobody, at age 17 agrees with comments about them being too young to (insert activity). Nobody at 17 believes they will wreck, and injur themselves or others.

You asked for advice - those wiser than you have offered that advice. It hurts our egos, as young people, when older people suggest we aren't as 'capable' as we like to believe.

The best bit of advice I can offer young people is 'learn to take advice'.

(sigh).

Nobody is 'hatin'...nobody is 'flamin'...Older, wiser people are trying to impart wisdom on you for your own good. If you don't agree, simply thank them for their words, and move on. That's the best policy.

In 20 years, try to remember what you say now. You'll be wanting to come back and kick your OWN *** for thinking this way.

You should talk to SimpleEffex (sp) he's around the same age and he loves to street race
But seriously--for $1,000 you can get an exhaust system-maybe canzoomer mod-and intake or so--but after it is all said and done you will only net about 5HP-10HP with intake/exhaust w/ Canzoomer you could get some gains. Once FI comes out it will void your warranty without question for a price well over $1,000. Also, FI kits are maybe 4-9months out.

Ok, well you guys still think I race around town like a maniac. I DONT. I said I do It in the middle of no where where I can practice my shifting and have a safe fun time. I did take all of your advice although they sounded more like critisism. I have had my car for 5 months now and I have never done anything stupid or wreckless on busy streets. So, agian thank you for your incorrect comments.

I know no one at 17 thinks they don't know stuff, I didn't, I thought I was invincible (22 now), but you look back in a few years and a lot of experiences later and then you'll know. As for the street racing, I've read about people on the SRT-4 forums that have had the warrany voided because Dodge looked at them and found out who they were, so I'd watch what you say.

Racing on public roads is illegal and dangerous, it doesn't matter if its in the middle of nowhere or if its in the middle of town. You are making yourself sound like a tool. This board is not forgiving at all to these type of comments so you might want to grow up a little or expect to get flamed when you post about racing.

Critcism is good. When you learn to recognize and accept criticsm, stop associating Criticism with negative thoughs, you'll have grown up a bit.

I'd suggest you look into a track day - that'll show you how good your skills really are.
