turbo manifolds.. who can custom make one for me??

i dont want to completely rule out going turbo. my eyes are set on Pettit but I still think turbo in the back of my mind... so here it is..

I dont completely agree with any of the turbo manifolds that I see for rx8 turbo kits. I havent seen Esmerils manifold so I wouldnt know about theirs. I've only seen the Greddy and PTP.

I would like a custom manifold with the rear exhaust port runner (rear rotor exhaust port) having "clearance". I dont want exhaust gases rushing out at a 90 angle. If that last runner would be longer, and still have room for the turbo and everything I believe it would reduce engine failure. Now I do understand the work that goes into this. I would probably willing to spend around $2000 for someone to do this. BHR, Esmeril?!?!? somebody. let me know what ya'll think of this.

I look at the Racing Beat headers and I really like the general idea of them..

btw I would want this manifold to generally work with the greddy setup.

any thoughts please post.

i have made some tubular equal length manifolds for other cars and charged around 800. So you can find someone to make you one for the price range you are in. I would help you out but as of now i really do not have time to be welding one up and then getting the flange machined flat so it has a perfect seal.

just an fyi... regardless of what you do with the manifold the exhaust will still be making an immediate 90 degree bend in the ports themselves that is far worse than what you see in a manifold

do top mount, build the mani anyway you like

They will need your car (or another RX-8) to make it fit properly

The boost/power you want to attain coupled with your turbine sizing and wheel choice will be the main point of failures in what you are referring.

+1

Also, have you looked down there? There's no way to fit a better manifold than the greddy manifold with the turbo being packed in there too.

That area is *tight*.
