If your so set on an rx-8 but have all that cash just go to acostamotorsports.com and get a 20b conversion could have a 500-600 hp on pump gas and still retain the rx-8 look. Just a suggestion =)

19yr old + $300,000 = waste

if i were you I would put that check (if your even telling the truth) in an IRA or high yield bond and in 10 years buy a $100,000+ exotic and a rx-8 and still have several g's left over.......but gut feeling is...you won't ..too immature I can tell by your few posts already...

You're both crazy. At 19, putting that in the market, with a big proportion tech/international/REIT will put him on the way to early retirement and a life of luxury. Time is your friend. Put it away and forget about it for 20 years = 3 mil without investiing another dime. 34 years = 12 mil. Hard to do though. :D

I am acutally investing some of it...but i have a wrecked car in the back yard.. and im in need of a car so either way i go im going to be buying a car. probably the rx8. i am telling the truth. i will scan the check if you really want to see it all i have to do is fix this piece of crap all in one printer my parents bought.

Money is hard to put away like that though. I mean I'm going to be honest. I'm 19 and im in college, i like to party, and do pretty much all the things a 19 y/o likes to do. Money makes it possible to to many more things and that makes it hard to put it up like that.

the guy that said something about sending him a check for 100g and he would build me the baddest rx8..haha not happening. ill take my money and have one built my self rather than letting u build it. I like what acosta has done with their rx8, thats quite a bit of hp.

I would prefer to have a winning blue w/ a mt and around 660hp with the R magic body kit and the mazda speed wing(in carbonfiber if possible).

Im not worried about a system but if it comes down to it i would put one in there. i have a $2,300 system that i worked my *** off for sittin in my room right now because of some stupid dr pepper truck pulling out in front of me.

Heheh this is funny to read. Here's a kid who (supposedly) has the money to buy pretty much any exotic car but would rather spend it on an RX-8 he'd like to build up to 660HP or something. Funny part is, he sounds like he doesn't even know how to replace a floormat on a car. Finish your school first and then you'll learn how to use that money properly. Better yet, ask your parents on how to build a 660HP RX-8. I'm sure they can tell you a thing or two.

:D I just couldn't help myself, I had to post my response. You want a fast one? Get an FD (it is lighter than the RX-8) and drop a 20B in it. Boost it and your Supra friends wouldn't hang around with you anymore coz they can't keep up. Also, if racing is your thing... quit school and use the residue if your 300K to racing school and compete with the Pros. Heck, we might even see this kid in Magazines soon. :D

Ok, I'm done... you can say A$$ again! :D

Sorry to mention this but I doubt that any car with a 20B would be an easy daily driver if that is important to him. If he was just in it for the speed I would suggest some other car than the RX8, like an RX7 or Viper or something along those lines. I doubt that any 8 you build to 660hp will be easily driveable and that money would do much better in bearer bonds or somewhere where it generates more money. With all the hard time I had going through college without any money and 6 meals a week I would have loved to have that money, and I know if I had it I wouldn't have spent it on a modding a car with and extra 250hp. If I was you I would just take the car that was fun to drive and leave it like that.

there ain't much money can't buy... between love and brains though, i'd rather have those and be penniless.

kid, seriously... i understand you like the car, but quit being such a n00b, money or not.

btw, get an FD. they're cheap, like ~$20 000 for a really nice one.

then, spend however much you want and make it like this:

or this:

If you know what you're doing, then great...more power to you. In my opinion the reason why some people are giving you a hard time is because of your lack of maturity in some of your responses.

It's not everyday that a 19 year old claims to have a $300,000 check, so expect a little bit of skepticism.

My $.02

Under what circumstances with what mods? That is an incredibly generalized statement. A stock Supra vs a modded RX-7 or Skyline? An 800 hp Supra vs a stock RX-7 or Skyline? I'm a huge fan of RX-7's since I have 2 of them but you can't make generalizations like that and be taken seriously.

Building a turbo Civic has about as much in common with building a turbo rotary as it does with baking a cake. At least a cake is rewarding. At the end of the day a turbo Civic is still a Civic. Yay. I also have a Civic BTW. Starting with a performance car is much easier than starting with an econobox and trying to turn it into something it can NEVER be which is a high performance sports car. FWD disqualifies them from serious performance anyways. There is video on the net somewhere of a street legal mid '80s FWD Plymoth Voyager Van running 12's. Any car can be made fast in a straight line so there isn't too much special about a turbo Civic. I wouldn't consider that a prerequisite for knowing what you are doing. If you knew what you were doing you wouldn't have to ask us if it can be done would you? FWIW I have a turbo streetported 1st gen RX-7 that I also built myself. I DO know what I am doing! The day I see a 660 hp RX-8 that doesn't have a 3 rotor in it is the day I patent perpetual motion.

WOW! 670 HP and you don't have the CZ box yet? That should put you at 1372 HP!

Put 600 hp in a rx7 and not respect it you wont get another check, well you might but it gonna be hella lot of postage to get.Whatever you buy enjoy it wisely.Just a note on the rx-8 and power, bore it a bit to drop comp and it will build somewhat like a rx-7.

Save the money and buy a house first, it will appreciate in value 99% of the time. Then sell the house in about 5 years, go out and get whatever you want. Real estate is always a safe and smart bet when you have a lot of money. I for one got hit by an eighteen wheeler two years ago but decided not to press charges or sue anyone because I was not injured and wanted to be able to go to sleep with a clear conscience. Not saying that you didn't have the right to get money, I don't know the situation, but be wise with this gift and don't go out in flames like all those young 80's moviestars did. I'd hate to see someone that could do good for themselves end up in Mike Tyson's shoes, bankrupt and ugly, in a few years.

I was pursuing a Supra and decided to get an 8 and have not regretted it once. The Supra engine is great but they are not as fun to drive. The aftermarket guys will come out with some great products for this car, just like they did with the 7, but you need to be patient. If you can't wait get a Lingenfelter Twin Turbo Corvette, 725 hp and 8.9 quarter for only 140k. Top speed of around 225 and has been that fast on the track. Just go to www.lingenfelter.com and check out some of the videos and then check the classifieds for used cars with some serious power and come cheap.

Just have a little patience and think before you spend, trust me, 300k does not go as far as you think when you start buying toys. Take care and God bless.
