UK tuning n/a rx8

hi all,

ive searched about the forum to see what parts are about for tuning the rx8 and had no luck finding any info so hoping some one might be able to help me out with this topic.

basically i want to get the full potential out of my rx8 without going down the route of turbo/supercharging as i simply cant afford it
i have a S/S exhaust system with a de-cat pipe currently looking into getting a tubular manifold, i understand the rotary engine has no head which means no valve terrain, camshafts or camgears to play about with so what else is there to change to gain any more bhp from my engine??

i dont know if im right in saying this but if i was to upgrade to a bigger fuel pump, bigger injectors, high pressure fuel rail, aem induction kit, bigger throttle bodie and a fuel pressure reg along with the exhaust system that i currently have and a header would this be a noticeable gain in power?? oh and would i need to change the AFM sensor and get a re-map??

any info and feed back much appreciated

many thanks mikey

Turboing the rx8 is actually cheaper than tuning a NA engine.
Only worth if you're racing it.... yet with good suspension mods and a shorter final gear you can have a lot of fun.

As far as the fuel mods go, they won't add power unless you are running into fuel starvation.

so if turbo is the only way to go then would anyone know where to get a good cheap kit? seeing as most of us cant afford 3k for one.

since your in the uk, have a budget of 6k pounds for a turbo build, theres a whole bunch of supporting mods you will wanna do

see 9krpm's build thread for help

racing beat does PCM reflashes. i would check them out

RacingBeat.com

although there isnt a whole lot to be unlocked..not like the gains from forced induction..it is safer to stay naturally aspirated. engine failure can happen and these engines arent cheap to repair. get yourself a good full exhaust (engine back) a good intake system. maybe an ignition upgrade and a tune (racing beats reflash, Cobb, etc)
