Does anyone know anything about powetrain control module or racing performance chip? found one at yourhotcar.com for 89.99 says it adds upto 35hp, which i know is far fetched but if this adds 5hp its worth it...please comment dont wanna waste my money

I recommend saving your money.. for forced induction..
If you have the 6MT then your about maxed out on n/a from the factory give or take a few ponies with all bolt ons.

Search the tech area:
-intake = 0-2 hp
-exhaust = 3 hp
-ud pulleys - some swear they felt no difference
So with your 1000 dollars your faster by two inches..

BTW with your current setup.. even if you got any power at all from that heat sucking K&N.. its being wasted with your lets say.. bulkier stereo equipment.

Accessport I have neevr experienced but have heard of nothing but good news from the subbie world about them. So with that I DO recommend AP

The accessport is the best way to go. I've seen it work, it's awesome. Any other "chip" is either snake oil or will cause serious damage to your motor.

thanks for imput guys..accessport is for mt only, i talked to some techs and they say to stay away.

 

these techs are the same that swore by using a "surge performance chip"...?

if you were really interested.. the Accessport is available for the automatic RX8.

 

fellow salesman suggested chip...a service tech, told me to stay away

 

From what I've researched on this forum about Accessport, I'd say it's a good little system. I haven't heard anything seriously negative towards it. Why not do a little search around and see what people say, you'll not find any more knowledgeable people about it then the ones using the Accessport...
