A few simple things

So I've been looking around to try and find some mild performance upgrades...
So far Im looking at doing the...

Greddy lightweight pullies...
RB intake...
Greddy Exhaust...
etc...

Now while still learning about the Renesis motor...

What else might you guys suggest...

all I'm looking to do is get a solid 50hp increase.

thanks alot.

For around 50hp, you'd need to go FI.. The most you'd get out of N/A (from what I've seen, others may know abit better) is probably +40 hp from stock (dynoed). To do that you'd need almost everything including an ECU, ignition, exhaust, intake, pulleys, major tune, etc etc..

Hmm... Well in that case... Lets just get as close as we can to 50hp NA so I dont have to spend 8 grand (right now)

some things to consider...

intake( you want rb so that and their ram air duct)
cat converter delete(race pipe, test pipe)
catback exhaust
feed 4.777 final drive
underdrive pulleys
lightweight flywheel
lightweight wheels(not really horsepower gain but takes off some rotating mass)
interceptor x or cobb accessport for tuning

even with that stuff you probably wont hit 50hp. staticlag was running a nice NA setup before he went fi might want to look through his threads.

Lol @ wcs aint it true.... I've been looking around It looks like Agency power underdrive pulleys are going to give me more bang for the buck... as far as intakes are concerned.... I'm looking @ sound+ reliability+performance+ price... I've read RBS are the best... but some of the threads I've read have lead me to believe it might be better to just do a K&N drop in...

I'm kindof a brand ***** lmao.. Kinda wanted to go Greddy as much as I could (still doing front & rear strut bars) so whatever is going to work the best is what I'm after

in the process of throwing every possible bolt on you can imagine without FI, you will spend most of that 8 grand if not all of it, and still wont reach your 50HP likely not even too close

My biggest concern is to have a very unique vehicle... That sounds good and performs well (pretty much already got it lol... but a few ideas I've had are a custom rear window decal labeling my car "Rogue" Also adding CF here and there just to maintain the correct look... Then obviously just to be able to open the hood and have a good look... I guess you could say its going to be more show than anything... but I've cut out the floorboard on every car I've ever had so i could push the foot feed farther (thats a massive exageration but you get the point)

I'm not quite ready for FI just yet... but that will be someday...

they are useless, only good for looks. NO gain from them.

I would have to disagree. I have the AP pulley and didn't "feel" any gains. Not saying it didn't, just not noticeable. Only real noticeable gain addition that I've experienced was a midpipe. To me, thats the best bang for the buck without going FI (if you are looking for "performance" mods). But you kill the environment by not having the cat.

full exhaust system, from manifold-tips (no cat)
a very good tune
intake
lightweight pulleys
light weight flywheel

+ (no power, but crazy acceleration)
light weight wheels (under 17lbs)
lower final drive

=
one crazy *** NA car.
NA isn't all about power, but rather it improves the responsiveness the car . You will have one quick crazy responcive car.

50wheel is possible I think RE had a NA rx8 that put out 280wheel. But I don't think anyone in the US has one, the highest I've seen is 242wheel.

Ummm... What NA RX8 in the United States that isn't a race car did you see dyno 242 wheel NA? The RE-A car is rated at 280 PS, which is NOT whp. Noone has gotten 280 wheel from the renesis engine NA in the whole world.

The most Speedsource got out of the fully prepped ST class race car with the renesis was 260 bhp.

that's about 220whp. That's the most you should expect NA without serious engine work.

Your money is best spent on suspension mods.

I would agree also that a nitrous kit is your best bang for your buck if you want more power.

BTW search friend. You're about the 10 millionth person to ask this question and there's a ton of good information if you do some research on this forum.

Ive got a typhoon intake and a midpipe and I still havent noticed much but noise. Its all a work in progress though. Im taking my bumper off soon to make a ram air and get some more cold air into that intake. Nitrous is DEFINATELY the best bang for the buck, followed by accessport (from what Ive read). Both are sub $700 mods that will yield good gains.

I'm guessing it's a 3 rotor 20B. That is a very cool project but you're in the neighborhood of 20K to to that swap.

Search Angeljoev and his 20B thread.

Performance pak

Go for the:

Mazsport ignition upgrade

RB Race flash or Cobb AP

Midpipe

That will give you some more oomph at a reasonable cost
