SR motorsports clutch and Fly

Hey guys,

Im looking into getting a clutch and flywheel kit, so I was just wondering if anyone had the SR Motorsports Clutch and Flywheel package, and how it runs?

Hows the quality?

And if its not so good, who else offers a nice package?

Thanks alot guys

I have an SR Motorsports aluminum flywheel on my RX-7. I love it. It is a little expensive though.

If you want to find more options, use a clutch, flywheel and pressure plate from an 87-91 Turbo II RX-7. They do work and there are tons of options.

So are they completely compatible?

I mean, would it run just as well as one designed for the RX-8?

or would it require modification

Ive looked into it a bit further and I think im going with this setup:

ACT Heavy Duty Clutch from Rotaryextreme.com ($375)

and ACT Flywheel ($265), Now on SR Motorsports.com they offer a modified RX-8 counterweight for use with aftermarket flywheel ($135), would this counterweight work with the ACT flywheel????

Thanks

Be careful, I don't think the Act comes with everything you need like the bearing etc...

Make sure that the quoted weights are with counterweight installed. Some manufacturers quote the weight of the flywheel, some quote the weight of the flywheel with the counterweight installed.

I have the SR Motorsports flywheel, and quality & craftsmanship is top notch. I got it for a screaming deal though. If you were to ask me if it was worth it over an RB or ACT unit I would have to say no. I was ready to get the Racing Beat unit & would have been quite happy with my decision. I was going to get the ACT clutch but at the time they were on backorder so I wound up getting the Centerforce unit.

As long as you use the RX-8 counterweight, you are fine. If you use the Turbo II clutch and parts, you need to use all TII parts. You can not mix and match them with RX-8 parts as the sizes are just very slightly off from each other. No harm done though and they all work just fine.
