omg speeddemon32 that is wild! what set up do you have on your car??? or is that a secret, not too many guys i autox with like to divulge info, im just really curious, and with your car that low i guess the mazda factory airdam would be scraping the road, i was really interested in having a cf airsplitter made (functional) to make it look aggressive, but now that i see ur rx's stance im really impressed, im just curious if i can make it that low with the air dam, side and rear flares along with cf front and side and rear splitters

I had (sold the car a year ago) Sprint springs, Koni yellow shocks, Racing Beat sway bars, K&N intake, UR pulleys, ACT ProLite flywheel, Racing Beat flash, Enkei RPF1 18x9.5" wheels, and Kumho V710 285/30/18 tires....

it was fun!

front camber was -2 degrees, rear was -1.5
Front toe was out just a bit, and the rear was 0.
Caster was maxed without effecting Camber.

These are the springs that Michael8 bought and had posted about earlier....maybe he'll post up some pics of what his car looks like with the springs. It defnately is the most aggressive setup with regards to lowering....and my personal opinion, is that the Koni Yellows would be too stiff for daily driving. I drove a couple of times in Speeds car and it hit things hard....you definately felt it when there was any imperfections in the road. His car didn't end up being a daily driver.....but for the autocross, his car had a good setup, I would go as far as saying I enjoyed driving his car more than my own, in compitition.

You will definately not be able to add the boy pieces that you are thinking about, with a drop that low. If you read posts by Michael, he'll tel l you about trying to get his car aligned, and he couldn't clear the racks and they actually cracked his sideskirts. Speeds car, you definately could tell he bottomed out on driveway entrances/exits, and speed bumps and stuff....the coating on the frame rails had been scraped away, I think he even had a flat spot on his catalytic converter.....he was low.

Great stance, I totally agree....and especially in Lighting Yellow....hot car.

damn, i was hoping i could somehow get away with that aggressive of a drop, yea i was reading up micheal8's posts, it would be nice if i could see the pictures too of his car. i was thinking about tokico d-spec with maybe a 1" or 1.5" drop. my whole goal for the car is to bond the airdam and flares into the body of the car so that it all looked like one piece, i was talking to a body shop locally so that i can get it accomplished over the winter when i dont drive it, the reason why i need the front airdam is so i can cut slots in the lower part for brake cooling ducts, and the side flares give the car a nice fat ass. so thats why i was hoping for enough clearance for the look

I've had Koni Yellows on my car for over a year now and my 8 is my daily driver (for the most part). The trick is to not have your fronts set to FULL STIFF like Speed used to have. ;)
.75 - 1.0 turns from full soft and you're good to go.

hmm, koni yellows just might happen, i was hoping for an entire jdm car but i guess thats not gonna happen

I think his ride quality was mainly affected by ride height and hitting bump stops. You're running Tein-s, correct?

yeah, Tein S. It's pretty low, certain speed bumps are troublesome and my poor RP supercat takes the brunt of it at times.

:)....yeah, Speeddemon's stock cat weighed about 2 pounds lighter than normal....from all the scraping. :)

I went from TEIN-S to JIC CO's and at H the car is very stiff... One thing I noticed is the rear ones, if you turn all the way to soft it comes off the strut! WTH? So what is recommended with these CO's?

Hey, Guys.

I apologize for falling off the radar screen on this. I was out of town for quite a while.

The Sprint Springs were definitely a very aggressive drop, and I LOVED the look and the ride with them on. Regrettably, I ended up paying to go back to stock springs because around here, the roads are so poor that I was scraping too often and it was resulting in too much of a weight savings! It just wouldn't have been fair to anyone else. :)

So, I'm probably going to be selling them locally. I have someone who saw my car with them on at the dealership (where I was having them swapped out for the OEM's) and he apparently was popping wood over the look. I haven't spoken with him yet, but I expect he's going to want them.

If not, I'll be happy to sell them here. If anyone's been following this and is interested in contacting me re: purchase, send me a pm with an offer and it will save me from the buy/sell post.

Ok, as promised, here are some pics of the car with the Sprint Springs on. I think it looks awesome. Wish I could have kept this set-up. Just wasn't practical with the roads around here the way they are.

oh yea real nice! hmm i have that same factory kit, but my side skirts are the flares instead of the entire skirt, and based off of what you got on your car, it looks like it would work on mine. i guess my only concern is that i dont think id be able to go into any store driveway such as a dunkin donuts or the mall near here because they have these grades to get into them if you know what i mean. how was your driveability affected by these? i know you said it would scrape just about everything but i think i can get used to that, id just have to change my driving habits i guess. also like with most springs did your car bounce a lot? and if you could PM with a price i think id be interested.

actually, what is your tire size, i was thinking about it more and more and with the tires im running i think my sidewalls are too high. i have 245/45/r18s compared to the stock 225/45/r18. i dont want to turn my wheel and have my tires scrape my fenders

I'm running 225/45R18's, same as OEM. No issues with them.

I have a couple of folks who are interested in the springs (one local, who I'd prefer to deal with just so there's no shipping issues). If you're still interested in them, I can keep you in mind if something falls through.

well tht sucks that you had to go through all that, then turn around and take them off.

Here in cali, being that low was not really a big problem, just had to be a little carefull.
