That's what I was thinking^^ Make sure you watch out for flashing CELs during the hot months where you live. Those intake that sit inside the engine bay get really hot. Some report intake temps in the 180s+. Not saying you will have a major problem but it may be something to watch.

The Engine Bay is Hot
Outside it is not (especially at high speeds)
An Intake which takes in Air inside the Engine Bay would take in that Hot Air
This. You have what is affectionately called... a Hot Air Intake.
Class Dismissed.

Not sure what the ID (inner diameter) is of the HKS pipe is but you should find a pipe of the same ID and extend it through the VFAD opening and down behind the black front part of the bumper. If you have access to or knowledge of how to put a thermometer in the pipe you should record the temps how it is now as apose to how it is with it extended. It may be a pain but time/money over loss of engine.
