SEMA Project RX8 Drift - suggestions, comments, etc.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say hello. I'll be picking up a Project RX8 that I'll be gearing out for SEMA this year and will probably be hitting you up for some feeback, comments, opinions, etc.

Right now, it looks like Design Engineering, Inc. (DEI) will be hosting the car in their booth and it'll be geared out for Drifting so if anyone wants to drop some suggestions my way before it hits my shop feel free!

I'll post pics and updates accordingly.

uhh, could you be more vague or? suggestions on what? wheels? exhaust? interior? What does "geared for drifting" mean? Are you throwing a 13b in there and boosting the buhjeezus out of it? or are you just throwing backwards vinyl all over the place and calling it a "drift" car? I mean, if you were serious in looking for suggestions and all then you could have been more specific, this just looks like someone trying to spam their company name otherwise, and we don't need any more of that crap.

After doing some serious research RX8 turned into a bust real quick. The RX8 has got nothing on the RX7 which was a big suprise. We got a dealership to give us one and after like 2 weeks of motor reasearch and online reading we opted out and gave the damn thing right back.

Yea it would take someone with a brain in his head to do something ground breaking and different.

I see you took the cookie cutter 240sx path instead.

lollerz

1) The RX-7 is faster and that's a big surprise? Have you been living in a cave? Did you do a test drive?

2) The RX-7 was also priced in the low end of Corvette territory. The RX-8 is in Camaro territory. The difference in price will buy you a buttload of mods.

3) Weeks of research? All you had to do was go into the forums and look for turbo threads. PTP and Greddy both have kits. If that's not enough tire-shredding power, you can always swap in a lower rear gear.

From a mechanical stand point it is what it is - the RX8 was engineered for exactly what it does. The reason people haven't broken out that motor is because of that realization. Now there have been a few companies that played around with and dumped a ton of money down the drain and into that motor but c'mon....you all are going to hate on me when this is pretty much the honest truth?

Haters...pff

But you RX8 guys...hmmmm, just having a hard time realizing that the car is an absolute dog - Really, if you had the choice would you really take an rx8 over an EVO or even an SRT4?
