I think he ought to worry about being old enough to have a drivers license before worrying about spending money he doesn't have on a car he doesn't have against a car he will never encounter at a drag strip.
BaronVonBigmeat I have a car (2003 Eclipse GS) and money and the age (22's), but a i need a very fast car to enter in the Drag. I am tired of other people Ferraris and lamborghinis and tired of seeing his rear lights a plate number. I want to demonstrate these people that other cars can with less money be enought fast to beat their expensives cars.
why would you take it upon yourself to make that statement?
With enough money, any car can beat any the expensive supercars. With the avg car price in the 30k range, you can buy yourself a $1000 rustang and put 30k of mods in it, or do the same with a civic... it still isn't going to make anyone envious.

If 360's are indeed high 12 sec. cars than I retract my statement of needing 450-550whp. 400 might be close, but remember the ptp rx8 that only ran like a 13.4. That's what I was basing my guess off.
A lot of cars can break high 12's w/o tons of money. STI, EVO, GTO Stang GT, 350z, SRT-4 (maybe).
And Yes. You must know your enemy! True.

"thats because they are as fasts as Civics" My favorite quote from the thread on the Z forum.
A Ferrari is just another car and can be taken down like anything else. In time, a FI 2 rotor Renesis will be able to take down most anything on the road including a 360. You may just have to be patient.

Why are you starting with the 8 as the base for a dragster? That's about the last car i'd pick if I'm worried about the 1/4.
I second the Vette notion (or any muscle car that starts with a large displacement V8).

Step 1: Buy a Factory Five GTM, the engine is in back and they weigh 2200 lbs. and they are very pretty
Step 2: Install a 4-rotor
Step 3: Paint your car green and orange
Step 4: Stomp Ferraris

Dang, is this the correct forum ? Where's the "bench racing is not allowed" quote ?
A 355, a nicely done RX7 AND a M5 with NOS all bowed down to a turbo Fiat Uno at a local race not too long ago....proof that anything is possible with enough money, or with little self-respect

Not enough power. It's as simple as that.... at least w/the Renesis anyway. On top of that, the 8 doesn't have much of an aftermarket yet. You are looking at a complete engine swap if you want to get into the 11s.
