RP Supercat vs other midpipe decision

Hey guys, I have a clogged cat and need something new. I have the racing beat exhaust and I was really wanting the RP supercat but after days of searching the forums, I have found out that the failure rate is fairly high. I have the greddy turbo kit and want the best midpipe/cat for my application. I do not however, want to smell like I poured gasoline on the car.
If anyone has a particularly good experience with the RP supercat or another midpipe please feel free to chime in, I need all the opinions I can get because I should be ordering this part tomorrow. I was debating the mazsports dual resonated pipe but I don't know if I can wait weeks for it like I did my intake. Which pipe should I get to let the turbo flow better without smelling gas all of the time.

(Before anyone yells SEARCH! I have searched high and low and still can't make up my mind. I just don't want to get the RP and then find out it isnt good for turbos or to have it fail soon after)

I've had the RP supercat + RB for some time now and the combo is simply AWESOME.
I recently ran into ONE small issue which is the weld on the heat shield seems to have broken. Simple fix, I'm sure my shop will put a tack weld on it for just a few dollars. (literally)

Midpipes are nice and there's a few good ones out there but after seeing a couple on a dyno, they smell horrible. Not sure I could put up with that all day.

the failure on the supercat seem to be related to the earlier versions; the ones they're selling now seem much better

catless midpipes are all going to smell the same.

as long as you're moving, no problem. At stop lights you might get exhaust fumes if the wind is blowing it towards the front of the vehicle. Putting the AC on recirculate stops that.

well I am installing the AEM Uego wideband and noticed Mazsport includes 2 bungs in their midpipe, one for the factory and one for the wideband. the RP Supercat I believe only has one bung, is it difficult to get a bung welded on if that is the case?

right now the rp supercat is the best choice.. it is reliable, though they did have a bad set of cats go out in a group buy.

they were fixed..

there is something else being tested, but it is to early to tell right now..

beers

It will cost you about $30 to have installed at a muffler shop who can weld steel.

Ive got the RP Supercat and the RB exhaust as well and have had no problems with it at all, Ive had the RP for almost two years now and am eagerly waitin the release of the RB header(yeah I know does not apply to you),,, anyway the RP deffinately has a different note to it and sounds different during different driving conditions...

I also have the RP supercat + RB catback combo and love it. It will be a bit quieter for you since you have the turbo, but should still be nice I assume. The failure rate should be fine... no guarantees on the heat shield though. My supercat was one of those in the bad group, but they covered it for free and I got a new one that should be fine now. My heat shield's weld broke or something and vibrated at certain RPMs but after a while I mostly went away... I'm not all too worried about that since it still functions fine.

The RP Supercat and Greddy catback were the first mods i bought after buying my car in 10/06. The car had just over 38K miles on it and the supercat/greddy catback were installed just days after the purchase of the car. I am now at 54K and it is still going strong, no issues whatsoever. I had it off a few months ago and the innerds looked fine.

He's in the racing section.

So I decided to order the RP Supercat and will have it installed later this week. I have one more question... I have the AEM Uego and wanted someone to point out the best location to weld on the other Bung

Here is a picture of a supercat, could anyone point out the best place for the 2nd bung?

hey WVBoosted8, where did you order that from? Is that a redesign? Mine did not look like that. Post me a link if it's different from this:

My hi-flo was with a borla exhaust and they give off a VERY nice sound. Got to get a new one though pronto. Mine is done and cops in VA are pretty serious about stuff like that.

That 2nd 02 bung should be placed before the CAT. At least that is my understanding.
