My friend had one, and the sound was amazing. It honestly brought out the life in the motor. The performance is very minor but its still something.

I have had my R.E. intake for a few months. In that time I have done numerous swaps between it and the stock box because I read where some had said they felt no difference. Initially, I agreed witht that view. Now, however, I disagree. I put the R.E. back on this past weekend and there is a huge difference. I used to think there were no changes until 4K rpm. Now, I noticed there is some gain as low as 2K with gradually increasing gains up until redline. To put it differently- while the stock box was installed I felt like I had to really lay into the throttle to get the car to intimidate me. Now I can feel where the car wants to "cut loose" much sooner. It should be noted that I also have a cat-replacement mid-pipe, Borla cat-back, SR pulleys and flywheel, ACT clutch, and Racing beat swaybars and springs. All of this was installed previous to my A/B comparisons between the stock box and the R.E. intake.

It does seem to suck for a lot of people. Others think its fine. I don't know, maybe its like the ECU mods, variability from car to car make the results inconsistent?

I was thinking about this mod. Any of the CEL, or rough idle issues that have been associated with some of the other mods ? That drives me crazy. Though it seems RE has been very thourough in their research.

i have RE intake.
of instructions are followed (espessially the 2 and half inch distance thing) it will work perfectly.
when cold, there may be slight hesistation here and there, but minor and gone in a minute or two.
good mod with noticabe improvement in sound and power.
KN seems to have many more problems.
