Where did you get the carbon fiber cover for the front bumper?

eBay. Cost about $100 if I remember correctly. There are aluminum ones around as well that are available in different colors of anodizing.

Yeah I've been slacking on my updates again. Been busy with exterior remodeling of my house, and I bought an RX7 that I've been modding as well.

The fuel pump is great. No hesitation under the hardest acceleration and turning, still can't hear it running over the purr of my RB exhaust. Worth the investment and trouble to me even considering I broke the lock ring and had to pay/wait for another.

Updates will follow.

MazMart RE-medy Oil Pressure Regulator:
Attachment 220733

In preparation for doing this, I searched the internet for hours and was unable to find much information so I will add this for anyone interested. Purpose of this is to increase oil pressure to ~100psi.

The front is the big bolt with a hole in the middle of the head(left of the pickup). This bolt is hollow, the three washers sit inside it between the bolt and the spring. The piston sits on top of the spring and may or may not stay in the engine when you remove the bolt and spring. Rear is obvious enough, remove and replace. The rear requires a thin-wall, shallow 26mm socket and is still a very tight fit between the irons when using a torque wrench. Spec for these is 60 ft-lbs and blue Loctite is recommended.

To compliment the higher oil pressure, I wanted to increase the oil capacity. Enter RX8 Performance fabricated pan. This pan increases capacity by 2 quarts while only lowering the bottom of the pan by 1/4" via the kicked-out sump. Also a new product that may be yet undiscovered by many is the Pineapple Racing oil pan gasket. This gasket is made from Viton(google it) and is the first gasket to be made for the 8 as far as I've seen.

Baffled with trap doors:

You may notice the giant oil spot on my garage floor; it's no joke that a LOT of oil is left in the stock pan when drained.

Switched to Idemitsu premix and Idemitsu 10W30 synthetic oil. OEM series 2 oil filters (larger filter capacity with a higher pressure bypass valve).

Same here man. Had the DW200 for about 3 weeks now. Love it! I had some problems as well lol the venturi valve cap and spring shot off and went flying in my garage. Whereabouts unknown.

Luckily I have a buddy close in Brooklyn who has three of everything Rx8 related, since he has two 8s and has gone thru 3 engines.

Sold me an entire spare fuel pump assembly for a crack head deal and I was able to melt the venturi correctly the second time. So far so good on the DW200 tho and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Ah shit, I suppose I forgot to warn about that. Lucky mine didn't try to get ghost on me but I always do quite a bit of reading when it comes to often-overlooked mods that don't have an abundant wealth of information that you stumble across in every thread you happen to glance through. Always afraid I'm going to lose or break something:uhh:

Lol funny thing was that I read all about melting the venturi cap. But had a load of misfortune as my torch ran out of gas :banghead: and my brother took my only soldering iron to his computer repair class. :squint: :banghead:

So I tried to melt the cap with a lighter and it ended up exploding on me because I didn't press it down. I ended up heating up a screwdriver on the stove and melted the cap perfectly the second time. It worked like a charm. :)

for that oil pan, what do you put in the hole at the top section (guessing this is driver side)? I've just come accross one of these...picked it up for dirt cheap... Was wondering if it was used for oil return line or termperature reading?? Any help would be greatly appreciated - as my build commences this winter :)

That hole, correctly stated on the driver side, is for the factory oil level sensor.

Winter time again means the old boy's in the garage for much longer than he'd like. Hopefully spring comes in the next month or so.

I'm also impatiently awaiting GridLife at Gingerman Raceway in May. I went to the 24 Hours of Lemons at Gingerman back in October. The Temperature was in the low 40's and miserably windy/spitty rain all weekend. But I was content to see this black and lime green RX-7 stomping the field with average times of around 1:45 when the others averaged 2:30.

Laziness inhibits me from doing a full detail presently, so I will leave these as a peek from the long awaited GridLife at Gingerman Raceway that took place last weekend. More will follow(eventually.)

Front end that I've procrastinated for a year (fitting/accessories/paint completed within a week of, and installed the night before GridLife, much regret of that one [ugh]) along with fresh OEM headlights complimented by Lamin-X light smoke tint:

Feed bumper looks great in Nordic Green. Now you need some side skirts to match the aggressive front!

Thanks! I got a loooot of attention at GridLife. There were 3 other 8's there; a red one(I hate red cars, in general), an entirely black plasti-dipped one(no further input required), and a black cherry Shinka(auto trans). All bone stock from what I could tell.

This front end was a ton of work since it's intended to delete to crash bar. I wasn't going to do that since this is my summer daily, and my RB duct mounts to the bottom of it, which further complicated things. I'll get closer photos or it. I'm looking into mounting the fog lights to the bottom of the crash bar, behind the grill mesh too.

As for side skirts, I have a pair of OEM flares, but I've been struggling to muster the balls to drill a bunch of 10mm(BIG) holes in my rockers:eyetwitch
