If you look at the two pumps side by side you can see why the OEM would pump more at low rpms. If you compare the vanes to an airplane wing, the angle of attack of the OEM pump is higher. I have noticed as well that my idle temps are a bit higher in warmer weather, but they haven't gotten anywhere near problem levels yet.

The Mazmart pump will flow better at all RPM's guys. (I am an engineer at a pump manufacturing plant.) The cooling system has zero static head, and is all friction head, so the system curve should be linear. I don't know the slope of this system curve, but if you look at the two impellers, the stock is an open design, and the Mazmart is a semi-open design. It will flow more at all RPMS based on this design change alone. This is a great looking design - I would buy one.

I honestly don't know what the flow rate of either pump is.

All I believe is my temp gauge. My temp gauge says: high rpm = good, idle = watch out.

We could get into an arugment about design specs, but it would all end in "lets test it to be sure." So whats the point of arguing?

It's all good.

It would be cool to simulate this on the CFD network we use...

Yeah, it would be good to get some definitive numbers out there. End all the speculation.

That's good to hear, Nemesis.

Then the higher temps i would think are due to one of two things that I can think of.

1. Different coolant mix pre and post install of the new pump. No way to know for sure what the coolant mix was like from the factory, assuming you hadn't already changed the coolant.

2. The increased flow from the new pump is causing the coolant to absorb more heat from the engine than before, causing the temps to be a bit higher. Not sure if that is a valid theory from a scientific point of view, but it sure sounds good to a idiot like me

My second theory does support the observations that someone made that their oil temps were lower since the new pump was installed.

the pump cost I think 230 bux plus shipping.

I have it, Couldnt be happier.

I cant compare the *before and After* temp cuz I installed my water temp when I install the pump. but it should be good, at least I have a new pump.

well there are two reasons for this pump. 1 of course for the improved cooling for things like track days, and 2, everyone says it frees up some hp
