I am considering purchasing a RB catback exhaust for my 2006 rx8. Currently I don't have any other mods other than some exterior visual stuff. My only concern with this is that my local dealer said it would mess up the engine (i don't really understand all the technical aspects). So is the dealer just trying to keep his hands in my pocket, or is what he's saying legit? Would this blow my cat or anything? I really hope not, cause I want one bad. Thanks for any info!

Absolutely not. Your dealer is just giving you BS. Though i'm not even sure why he would.. he knows he has nothing to lose or gain either way.

 

I asked the dealer about the Mazdaspeed CAI, and they were hesitant about even that. I don't know what the deal is.

 

I've got some fender strakes I ordered being shipped to me right now. Will that mess up my engine too?

if you go through and read the racing beat website thoroughly, you can tell that RB really knows their mazdas, probably better than your mazda dealer actually.

 

Absolute BS but the problem is lets say something occurs in the future (knock on wood) they can hold you against buying the exhaust. However, i believe they need to prove that the exhaust is at fault. From what ive heard.

If it was like that no body would mod their cars lol.
