I wouldn't try any Ebay special thing. they might be good but, I would rather spend a 200-300 more for a Radiator that I "know" will not cause any problem(s)
Putting a bet on Ebay special Radiator also means you bet your engine on the table as well.

Seriously, I would trust Koyo more than some "Ebay special"
I think the issue with Koyo is that there is not enough air going thru the core. one day I will swap the Ron Davis rad back out, Koyo back in with "blocking" stuff around it to see how it performs.
but for now, I need to get some stuff so I can force the air flow thru the Ron Davis first (Its already great Rad, just trying to make it better)

It also helps from overspinning the alternator at high rpm's. You can toast the bearings in the alternator when you spin then at high rpm's for excessive time.
NOTE: This can mean that at idle you are making less than 14 v

well, the ebay special is in and so far so good. Had to fab up some supports for the condenser and the fan screw holes were off. So it was not an exact swap, but it is much nicer and beefier then the oem. I dont have to worry about the plastic tanks breaking, all aluminum. I would not suggest someone with out mechanic experience to attemp. Just got to make sure there is no metal on metal contact, dont want to rub any leaks. It is a real task to get to the radiator and replace. So schedule a day to play with the 8 it calls for 3 hours for a tech to replace. Cooling is great and I have about 500+ miles on it so far and will rack them up quickly. Because I drive about 1000 miles a week. if anyone is going to attempt this swap try to contact me and I can go more into depth with the swap procedure of this certain rad. Its fun

Im almost at 100,000 miles.
Temps checking is just by the stock guage, same as always, needle just touching the start of the water temp logo. No foam as of yet, but I do want to get some type of air deflecting going on. Im not trying to over heat anything, just driving mad miles, no racing yet.
there is not much open space to close off around the outside of the rad. Thinking of just glueing the stock foam from my old rad where it will fit, not too sure yet, just got it all together sat.
after handling the two rads for the day it really makes the oem feel cheap and flimsy.

It doesn't really matter how "flimsy" it feels... it isn't a structural piece, and doesn't have to withstand physical abuse of any kind. All that matter is how well it cools. Without an accurate temperature gauge or some type of datalogging via OBD-II you really can't tell if you've improved the cooling system or not.

yup, I believe the stock gauge doesn't even move till about 232 degrees; by then your system is heat soaked and you need to back off ASAP!!

^If it only cools as good as stock, then you just flushed $200 plus time installing and from the sound of it fabricating for... what exactly? It's not like it's even a show piece; the way the stock radiator is mounted you pretty much never look at it.
