RB is winning, because of me.
I have the Racing Beat, and I think it sounds great. I've heard the Borla and it sounds really nice too. Personal opinions are going to vary, and I voted for RB because I have it and it is the once I am most familiar with. I don't regret for a second buying it, the quality is amazing. I'm sure owners of the Borla would say the same about their exhaust.
So, I guess it really comes down to flipping a coin because I am sure that with either one you will be happy.

i would recommend thinking ahead of future mods you would possibly consider after you get an exhaust..and pick the exhaust that will compliment the rest of your mods.
ie) "i like the borla but what if i get a midpipe down the road...will i still like the sound it produces?"

Had a Borla on my last car and it was lovely sounding. I'll eventually get it for my 40th AE as well. Lovely sounding at idle and it opens up when you wanna get on it.
+1 Borla!

The best way to describe the RB remains... "It sounds like the rx-8 should have sounded stock."
It's not crazy, wild, or flashy. In fact some non-rx8-enthusiasts will probably look at it and hear it and say... wow, I love what Mazda did with the exhaust on that car.
If you want it to sound and look "modded," the RB will probably leave you wanting more.

I had the Racing Beat & loved it. Just about perfect. Sounds stock at low revs, but really opens up at medium/high revs. I had a RP Supercat with it & it still sounded awesome.
