That's the proper way to advertise power gains. Everyone else only seems to tell what the max gain is in one spot. In this case it would be 5.8 hp but by doing that people just autotatically assume they have 5.8 hp gain everywhere which isn't true. This is truth in advertising.

Nabil, I told you that you wouldn't be disapointed.

Yes, I almost had mine done before the wife came home. She was freaked out too!

I've had the nose off twice now...once for the RB oil cooler screens and now for the intake...I've found the fog light connectors come off much easier if you pull the nose off part way and then reach down and disconnect them, rather than trying to reach up inside and doing it with the nose still seated more or less in place as the RB directions describe.

I have the same buzz from what i think is the instrument pod. it rattles, and the increased vibration over 5k also rattles my radar detector. But now i have a buzz coming from the intake. I am going to take the nose off again this week,a nd really tighten those threee interior nuts down. Those were a pain in the ***. I had a hell of a time with them. hopefully i can get these little rattles taken care of.

This just does not make sense....

My install took a little over 2-1/2 hours, and did not tell the wife. That evening we went to the movies, and under 'normal' driving there is no difference whatsoever, sound-wise or otherwise.

However, when you change your driving style to 'spirited', and give it some throttle, the RENESIS responds faster, and sounds great. The idle is smoother too, just like others reported.

Racing Beat states the HP increase is minimal, but the throttle response tells me they are lying. This mod falls right behind the lightweight flywheel as the most responsive improvement I've made thus far.

I am a realist -- be ready to be impressed.

I had a rattle/buzz from somewhere behind my dash, and this was before I had the RB intake installed. I just took it to the dealer and told them there was a noise coming from somewhere behind the dash and had them check it out. When I came back they told me it that the dash just needed to be tightened which they did under warranty. Noise gone.

It seems that our intake has been very well received; I have yet to hear of any serious complaints or fitment issues. (Whew!!!) I have received a great deal of mail from REVi owners with comments and suggestions regarding the installation instructions and we have been continually updating the instructions to reflect your suggestions.

It seems that the fog light connectors pose the biggest challenge, just trying to figure out how they "unsnap" is the hardest part!! Once you figure out the orientation, the second one is easier. I am trying to locate a line drawing of the unplugged connector to include in the instructions. (Any decent graphic artists out there?)

Sorry for the delay in presenting the performance data, we had some internal issues to contend with regarding the release of this data. We have received a couple reports of rather impressive chassis dyno runs from industry sources after the installation of this kit. I am sure that this info will make its way to the forum; this kind of news is great to hear!!

We are considering offering this unit in a couple of different colors; we currently have a "red" and "blue" sample that we are evaluating.

Let me know what you think, and keep your suggestions coming.

I would highly be interested in red....just the portions that are blue in the existing intake, not the black plastic portions, right?

I would reallllly love it if you could make it in Black. Kinda like a stealth black. I personally think it makes the engine bay more of clean look than to add these bright colors to it.

Do you think you can make one, or make the Rev-i in three colors, the piping that is?? Blue, Red, and Black.

Please let me know. Thanks.

Mr. Langer....please, keep up the great work!!!

Work on a high flow cat & ECU...next, that would be great!!!

It seems the more I look at other products the more it looks like my 8 (in time) will become an advertisement for RB...lol.

The different colors is an idea, but if you retain your stock engine cover, almost none of the anodized and colored bits are visible.

Question, the step of hitting the brake pedal 20 times as a couple have mentioned, should that be done right after reconnecting the battery, and before the lock to lock with the steering wheel, or after the steering wheel trick. I did not do this step, and am going to go throught it tonight to see if it makes a difference.

From the TSB, I thought the brake pedal trick was for major engine work (to re-learn the crank position cam profile) and rough idle problems. Other than that, I would think the computer would learn about new airflow characteristics pretty quickly...

Others have mentioned, that the brake pedal trick is for resetting the memory on the ECU. I thought that disconnecting the battery took care of that. I jsut wanted to find out if I need to do this, and the sequencing.

If it is like my other Mazda you disconnect the battery then tap on the brake about 15 - 20 times then reconnect the battery to reset the computer. My understanding is that tapping the brake makes sure all the voltage is gone.

This might not be right. I am not an ASE tech , but it does work on my Protégé.

Black all the way. My engine cover has been in my closet since July 03. I plan on getting the MS front strut bar and that is black carbonfiber.

All BLACK, please.
