That o2simulator looks interesting. Are you going to try it? I could see myself going that route if it works obvioulsy to avoid the CEL.

If you did not let it warm up before shut down. There will be a noticable power increase, depending on your current CAT condition. Mine was bad, so in theory it was more than a 8HP gain. I have the stock exhaust on with Tips extended out past bumper at 3.5 inches. I bet money it would pass inspection. There is another thread I read to support that. Someone passed with a midpipe.

The CAT on this car faces demise due to the nature of the car. To run properly, the car needs to warm up to temp for ECU reasons. Until the temp gauge moves to the normal point, it runs rich. Correct me if I am wrong, but the EGT at idle is easily 800. During the warm up the CAT is basicly an afterburner in reverse. They should have installed a toaster oven. In six months that chrome pipe has turned black. Tell me that aint some heat. All that heat conducts back up into the header and to all the other parts. Getting that heat away has got to add life to the engine.

you have a rb midpipe? who else offers midpipes for us?

I'm deciding between this one and the one on ebay that it is basically just an extension... :scratchhe

there you have it

GrRx8MaZdA 05-04-2007 06:28 AM

Will this work with a turbo kit or will i have problems with the boost pressure??overboost etc..

Moostafa29 05-04-2007 09:39 AM

Your boost pressure will increase, with less back pressure. If you have a turbo, you should get it tuned again if you get this.

GrRx8MaZdA 05-04-2007 09:50 AM

So better to go with a cat system with a 3" pipe..I ll see what i ll do..damn this tuning hits my nerves..Nobody can handle it here...I am anxious

Moostafa29 05-04-2007 10:04 AM

The race pipe will give you more hp, but there are trade offs like emissions, noise, and smell.

GrRx8MaZdA 05-04-2007 10:55 AM

and if i wont tune i can blow up my turbo...As for the noise i am used to it with my single exhaust..Well the turbo will quiet it up..anyhow thanks mate
