Racing Beat Exhaust
Just ordered the Racing Beat exhaust. How long did it take to get to some of you that already have it? I want it here now!

Since RB is on the other coast from you, it may take a week to get.
Installed mine by myself, using ramps. Very easy install, just make sure to lube up the existing exhaust hangers, so the tangs let loose of the rubber.

If you use an extra large/long scredriver ir small pry bar it only takes a minute or two each to pop them off, I don't even lube them. I just push them back on by hand, no problem.

I just put my Racing Beat and RP supercat on this past weekend and it really isn't that hard. Not something I would pay for. But I guess it depends on how patient you are. The exhaust hangers are a bit tough to get off. I have big hands, so its hard to get into those little spaces without cutting your hands up. A few times I would actually cut into the rubber with the screwdriver from the force I was putting on it. But I think its a pretty simple diy mod. Just jack the car up and get to work.

For me, paying Midas between $45 - 80 dollars is definitely going to be worth freeing up an hour or two of my time. More time to drive...
Also, I'm sure there are plenty of people here how rent and might not have access to a private garage to work on their RX-8's

The more stuff you do on your own, the better you get to know your car. This will be invaluable if at some future point Mazda cancels the model and all the decent rotary-knowledgable mechanics leave and there is nowhere you can take the car to get competent service.
Yes, I owned an FD why do you ask? :D

So I have my racing beat exhaust installed now . . did it myself Like everyone else says on here, great product, love the deeper exhaust note! I did get a little concerned though . .took it for a test drive and of course smelled the "new". Went in the convenience store for a soda, came out and had smoke coming out the tips, engine turned off! Guess there was a lot of new to burn off! Drove it for about ten miles and the smell is slowing getting less. I need to update my sig now

Yeah I was tripping off that too. I wasn't sure if it was the new cat, or the exhaust. 3 days later and its still smells a little, but it doesn't smoke anymore. But the tone from the combination is incredible. All I do is think about it at work to get me through the day.
