Racing Beat Exhaust?

Does anyone know how good the Racing Beat exhaust is? Does it add any horsepower, and is the sound that much better than the stock exhaust? Thanks

Search is your friend.

But I will give you a quick synopsis of what I know since I have researched the same thing.

1. You aren't going to gain much HP from JUST the exhaust.

2. You will have many opinions as to the sound quality. I narrowed mine down to the RB and the Borla. I have been leaning to the RB for about a month now. I am waiting to buy new tires, wheels and an exhaust as soon as I decide on the wheels that I want.

Yeah I searched but didn't find much (granted didn't spend too much time really on it). I read somewhere that you can get 5-7 HP from it...but I guess that's wrong?

Whoever quoted you5-7 hp is wrong. On cat back exhausts it is 2-3 hp. I have the RB exhaust & the sound is amazing, basically stock at idle, but a bit louder & lower (vs. high peaky ricer sound) at speed.. I also like the look of the tips. A full 3." The Mazdaspeed tips were too small & I didn't like the rolled tip look of the Greddy.

I have the RB exhaust as well and would recommend it to you. Your deciding factor will be sound and looks. I liked the RB mostly because it is quiet, I decided on it over the B&B purely on that factor. If I remember correctly, the Mazdaspeed exhaust tips look just like the stock ones except for the word "Mazdaspeed" engraved on them.

Go to a meet or check out any local people that have aftermarket exhausts to compare. I've got the RB and it is just what I was looking for and surprisingly, one of the cheapest as well. The only problem is you don't make up any weight from the stocker but it's still very worth it.

My RX-8 got the RB Catback two weeks ago. It is a very nice addition, as it sounds wonderful.

But that is what you are paying for -- sound. It does not run any faster.

The RB Cat Back is awesome.. IMO of course. Here are MY reasons. Agree with them if you like.

1. I like the sound. Not obnoxiously loud. But just right. Slightly louder than stock.
2. The tips.. oh the tips. They look way better than the stock tips and are THE best IMO. They fill out the exhaust holes just right.
3. Exhaust aint gonna give you power, if at all (for the RX-8, at least). So IMO, this upgrade is purely sound and looks.

My suggestion, find people in your area with different exhausts and check them out for yourself. Otherwise, you're at the mercy of other people's opinions, and digital representations of the real thing (sound clips, images)

Tada!
