Racing Beat Dual Resonated Mid pipe Q's And A's

I'll start with a question others feel free to answer and or post videos of your catback with the RB dual Resonated Mid pipe. figure we can get one thread about this mid pipe and our forum members set ups and or questions this post will be updated with ll questions to make it easier to find info.... As for my question

Q: Will i need a new donut gasket to fit the 3in mid pipe? don't feel like pulling everything apart. and then realizing I need that ****. thank you in advance

A: As for your question, its not a true 3 inch. The ends taper down to the stock exhaust diameters.. for obvious reasons.
RB supplies the front manifold gasket, your rear donut should be reusable. If not, get one. (Answered by alz0rz)

situation : I think my CAT is clogged (extremely abnormal heat) . I was planing to replace with RB dual resonated mid pipe

Q1 : does the RB dual resonated mid pipe solve the problem ?
Q2 : does it throw a CEL ?

A1: If your cat is clogged, any other pipe will solve the problem.
Unless poor ignition contributed to the clog, which then you still have a problem.
A2: Yes as any midpipe

Q: How much louder does it get with the dual resonated pipe over stock cat? Would it smell? How easy is it to clear the engine code with a cobb ap/is it guaranteed that it'll clear the code?

A:I honestly could NOT tell ANY increase in sound over the stock CAT with the Racing Beat DR Midpipe. And I've had them on and off a bunch of time, and yes it will smell

I've never been able to get the stock donut gasket to work with my racing beat midpipe. I bought it directly from RB. I tried using my stock donut gasket and it kept getting stuck about half an inch from sliding on the whole way. I bought another donut gasket online and it does the same thing. finally had to settle with a flat gasket that's been working good now for 2 months. I'm guessing the midpipe I got from RB just wasn't narrowed down enough. Kinda pisses me off but oh well.

You do realize that the two pipes are not meant to 100% touch. I have about a .25-.5 gap in between mine also. it seals just fine and was made that way on purpose.

Ad uals resonated or any resonated midpipe defeats the purpose of horse power gain and wastes money...but...... sounds good.

i can say my agency power catback is actually quieter than with my cat at cruising speeds. just like any catless midpipe, you will get a smell. i for one have never thrown a CEL with either the agency power or RB midpipe i've owned. i've had the RB for about 1100 miles now and still nothing

I'd buy the RB DR just because it looks and sounds so damn sexy, who cares about power

RB midpipe is a great setup for the person who is looking for that nice cruising tone...its a really nice add on 2 ya exhaust system but no gains of horsepower..at least i dont think there is any significant gains . ....honestly this is not loud at all compared to other midpipes..i have a complet racing beat setup from intake, header, dr midpipe, rev8 exhuast system....not as loud as HKS...or borla or agency power....but believe me ...this **** feels smoooother than a babys ***.....Only throwbak with the midpipe....is the dealing with the bad smells....

Yeah that doesn't make much sense. Its the one part of the exhaust I would expect to yield a power gain.

There is a gain but not much. Of course the forum carries that misconception that any modification to the car "does nothing". But any gains are small.

is the horsepower gain somewhat compromised in the racing beat dual res, being that it is not a FULL 3 inch? And also when people mention exoticspeed "racepipe" they are talking about the "cat-delete" correct? Not the exoticspeed racing midpipe "catalyzer" that they also sell on their website? Thx

if there is any "compromise" is so minute that it is negligible.

bigger piping doesn't automatically mean more horsepower....
