Questions: new engine, turbo, bigger injectors
I've just dropped an engine in my 04 MT. I have the greddy turbo kit, with emanage ultimate upgrade, 3" exhaust all the way out, and boost controller.
I have added two 550 cc injectors, and moved the four 380 cc injectors to the other injector locations. I know I need a retune, but I'm hoping I got the injectors in the right spot. I couldn't find anything indicating which were which, that is, which is P1, P2, and S injectors. Ok, I know the P1 injectors were the red ones, because there was only two of them, and all remaining injectors are 380 cc. I believe the 380 cc were yellow, if I'm not mistaken here. Everything I read said put the new injectors in the S ports. I hope I got it right, because it's a real pain in the **** to take that intake off. I put the 550 cc injectors in the two outside ports, where there are four in a straight row across the engine block. The two center ones are 380 cc now, and the two that were offset in location from the other four, I put 380 cc.
Now, when I tried to start it, it flooded out, I finally got it started, but it is blowing white smoke that is so rich with gas it'll make your eyes burn. I'm guess that this will be the case until I get it tuned, and obviously, I'll make no attempts to drive it.
I have contacted a tuner in the area where I live and they said they can tune it up for me. I've located a base map for the Ultimate upgrade kit. I wish I had a map that would give me a good base for my new injection scheme to facilitate further tuning.
Anyhow, any advice or answers about the correctness of the install would be highly appreciated!

Thanks!
Yay! I got it right afterall. After about five minutes of thinking, and looking at the intake paths relative to the injector locations, I decided the secondary locations were where MM showed in that diagram. Thanks for directing me to that diagram. Hell, I guess I need to learn how to search this site better. I search on it, but couldn't locate it.
Well, I got my car in for tuning right now. Thank God they won't have to take the intake off and relocate the injectors. Case closed. Now, I guess I got a few things to do if I want more power: upgrade the fuel pump, and dispose of the original GReddy turbo that came with the kit. Might buy MM's ugraded turbo setup, and the Cobb Accessport. It'll be nice to dispose of the Emanage Ultimate...and a lot of wires.
Thanks again!

Still waiting
Sorry folks. Still waiting for them to tune my car.
They have it idling, but they said it is running very rich still. I believe there is potentially a vacuum line (one or more) routed wrong. The mechanic (not the shop that is tuning it) that dropped the engine in did his best with what he had. I suspected he might have routed them wrong. The intake was removed from the "new" engine already, so he didn't know exactly how to route the lines.
I dropped by the tuner's shop today and he said he worked on it for a little while, but will get on it full time next week. With 20% more fuel going in, I couldn't even hardly make it run before, but at least it is idling and starts easily now. I'd say chances are good for a vacuum line problem. Of course the old plugs were fouled out, but I had him a nice fresh set to use.
They had to get the map from GReddy so that delayed them working on it for a day or so. I downloaded a map that was supposedly unlocked, but it wasn't. He says he's having trouble getting the fuel right at idle regardless of the map adjustments. So I told him that he should be suspect of the vacuum lines. He definitely knows how to tune imports so I trust he will get it straight soon.
Open to any ideas I can throw at him that could be the cause. Anyone?

Had an issue, but resolved...
Sorry I don't have any dyno results yet. The shop tuning my car could not get the fuel map to take away any fuel. Eventually, we realized that we were not pulling a vacuum after I glanced at the boost gauge. After a quick check, it was realized that the pressure sensor for the Emanage Ultimate was connected to the output line from the turbo compressor. Therefore, the computer saw no vacuum at idle, and so it was DUMPING fuel in. It thought I was about to come under boost. Well, we moved the hose to a good vacuum, and voila, it instantly ran perfrect. Prior to that it was smoking with eye watering fuel fumes and running a "little" rough. I can't believe that is all that it was. The guy that swapped my engine is a good engine guy, but not a turbo guy, so I forgive the mistake. I'm just glad we caught it before we went insane thinking there was a major problem. Whew.
But the shop owner is taking a well deserved vacation, and will return Tuesday, install some additional gauges for me, including AFR, and then dyno tune my car.
As soon as I get the results I will post them.
Next stop: Charles' coil pack upgrade, and Jeff's GReddy turbo upgrade. Might be a little while on upgrading the turbo...my toy money has about been exhausted for now.

wow sounds like everything is going well. i also have the greddy kit with the emanage ultimate..mine also idles rough...but its got vacuum during idle so idk wats wrong..maybe it just needs to be tuned (it hasnt yet. soon hopefully.) another funny thing is it doesnt rev to 9000 rpms anymore..it boggs down after maybe 6500. occasionally it will go higher but its slow climbing. have you had this problem at all..or anyone for that matter. its a slow working progress. let me kno how the tuner goes about getting through the emanage..heard its kinda hard

Well, I've had some problems getting my car tuned locally. I just think they don't understand how the emanage ultimate and the rotary engine works together. Since I put bigger injectors, things were definitely not right. The reason I put them there is because I plan on more boost in the future. I got about 20% more fueling capacity. Anyhow, I broke down and bought the Cobb AP from Jeff. Tired of "dicking" with the emanage. Right now I'm running his initial flash (not considering any upgrades except it is Greddy FI), and it was amazing how much better it is running. Now, after Jeff gets me all tuned up, then I'll take it to the local shop, and maybe let them fine tune it on the dyno and get some results up for you guys.
The good news is that my wife's visa got approved!! I'm pretty Jazzed Up about that. Maybe a couple of more months. Unfortunately, I couldn't get her to the Mexican/US border, otherwise, she could have come right on in
Zero vacuum to the Greddy sensor does no good at all for starting your car up. hahaha. I'll address some of the other questions after I get this frickin thing right. Sorry for the delay, I got two problems: Not an infinite source of money (unlike Congress) and not enought time!
