Product reveiw:Flex Innovations grounding kit.
Flex Innovations grounding kit. Aside from the prototype I am the first RX8 with this kit and I must say I am impressed. It has made my idle solid as hell, no more dips when the a/c or heater turns on, no dimming lights. The throttle responds doesn't seem faster but certainly more solid feeling. I have only had one tank of gas through the car thus far but I did have a 1 mpg increase in mileage. (not bad for some wires) They use gold terminals and true 8 ga. wire and comes in a wide selection of colors. I went with the black with white pattern, this particular wire is fire retardant. But all the wires are extremely heat resistant. Very simple install comes with color pictures which makes it very easy to do in 15-20 with basic hand tools. Here are a few pics of the kit installed.
Alternator ground which goes also to the throttle body and - on battery.
From alt to throttle body.
The two chassis grounds.
The main ground, you can still use your stock batt. cover no problem.
Engine bay from afar.
I tried to outline the path of the kit and circle the ground points.
All in all not a bad deal IMO. check them out, Flex Innovations, ask for Tom or Chris.
Thanks, Bose.

flex innovations.com the site says 40+5 for shipping, but I was told 35 shipped. I will email him tonight and should have a response on it by morning.
You still can use the battery cover, I do. Just didn't put a pic up cause mine was being painted.

this is especially helpful if you have a larger stereo. solid grounds can have a drastic effect on light dimming. I did it in my grand prix with 4awg wire and plan to do it on my 8 eventually. $45 isn't a bad price to have a kit in hand. It would run you a little less than that to buy the parts and DIY, but then you'd have to do the work. Seems worth it to buy from them.

I am in the process of working on our website: http://www.flex-innovations.com/ in order to allow people to order an RX-8 kit directly from our website. I am not finished just yet though, but I will try to be done tonight if you want to wait.
