2 stages. But it really doesn't matter if you are tuning it specifically for your car. I would recommend the hi-flow cat (Random Technology) with resonator that they sell. You to tune it for max hp gain. One of the big concerns is that at max hp/tune it gets quite a bit hotter than stock, so it will burn up your stock cat in short order. Get the hi-flow cat (or a midpipe) & get an extra 5-6 hp anyways.
