Post Recall Dyno Today!!!

After the recall my car felt so strong that I decided to get a dyno to see what she was making.

This is the third run, SAE corrected for temp/pressure/humidity and the graph above has smoothing of 3.

The first run was with DSC/TSC off by pushing the button for 8+seconds till the TSC light came on. One fan pointing at the radiator/RB duct. Pull was about 18 seconds, and some coolant came out the overflow. 202HP

Second run about 4 minutes after the last was with DSC only pushed once so it says DSC off but no TSC symbol. And another fan pointed at the engine bay from above. 196 HP

Third and final run we waited 15 minutes for it to cool and had the ABS/DSC fuse pulled from under the hood, both of the fans above and one more fan pointed directly at the passager side oil cooler. 203 HP on 87 octane "regular gas"

The Oil used was Valvoline Dino 10w40 with 2860 miles on it, Advance Auto Parts Generic Filter.

The BS was that i brought my camera but forgot my damn flash card! so I could only take a few photos. I really wanted to take video.

mods are in my sig/VB garage https://www.rx8club.com/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=12016

This is my first dyno, I wish I had done a few others

The whole process was a whole lot less painless than I imagined it would be.

How much more would you say you are making now speaking in butt dyno terms? I have yet to get the recall done, hell I haven't even received the letter yet.

That's just plain awesome. Anyone know approximately what it would be on a Dynojet?

depends on a LOT of factors...we could speculate, but it's not worth anything to guess. I'll chip in $10 for the guy to go and find a dynojet in his area and run again.

Was this with a new motor? Or just the new flash? Also did they say anything about your mods? Particularly the supercat?

Awsome numbers!

Not really that many mods. Intake, exhaust, flywheel, pullies.

Great to see solid numbers. Maybe a few more of us should go to the dyno.

I'm going to say after the recall it feels the same as after I installed my pulley or supercat, which seems like 10+. But they did change my plugs during the recall, so that probably contributed to a lot of it.

All they did for the recall was do the tests, do the flash and replace the plugs. They noted all the numbers on the invoice and wrote an extra note on the bottom underneath the test results that said precisely:

"Note Aftermarket ***. Converter has been replaced with aftermarket one also exhaust and air filter ***. trans has had short throw shifter installed"

200 whp on a mustang dyno is really good, even with mods.

IF this is for sure a mustang dyno, then the numbers are great. I had 230whp on a mustang when I had a turbo. If it is a regular dyno, then the numbers are ok considering the mods.

It was definetly a mustang, it had a metal grille with the words "mustang dyno" written in metalwork on the side of dyno chassis. In picture 2 on the side you can make out the letters "MU"

having most of the same mods as you & dynoing them vs stock just last week I was around 172 hp on a Dyno Dynamics which by all accounts is comparable to a Mustang .
So 203 is quite amazing - are you sure you weren't spraying some nos in there ?
If you add on losses you are going to be up where Mazda claims for FW HP !

Can you ring the dyno people & ask them specifically if they have compared their mustang dyno to a dynojet .
Thing is - we want to know what is happening with your engine - it seems about 20-25hp more than anyone else can get with those mods.
