Please excuse my Bad Joke of selling my RX8 in "Stinks for Tuning" thread.

I know this post may end up deleated - but if it could stay for 24 hours that would be great.

My "For Sale" post in the "Stinks for Tuning" thread was a total joke - notice the car has less than 200 miles and had a canzoomer unit on order. I was trying to poin out how rediculous JeupRX-8 posts was, as if I'd read that and actually sell my car with less than 200 miles.

I guesse I have too dry a sense of humor......

Sorry All......

I love my 8 and will soon post my observations on this recent build Dec 03 versus the one I did sell back to Mazda in the buyback, as soon as I have some MPG data.

You had me on the first post, but then figured it out on the second. It's hard to be sarcastic in writing.

I didn't see this in the original thread but I would like to see a dyno chart that showed 30 hp gains from an exhaust and intake. That makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. The only car that I have ever owned that gained anywhere near that was my '91 MR2 turbo. The stock intake was not a deep breather and the piping going into the second cat was cinched in order for the celica cat to fit the mr2. I had to replace the cat, cat back, headers, and exhaust to see that kind of hp gain and it was quite a bit more expensive than the $700-800 you would spend normally for exhaust and intake. And turbos gain more from loosing backflow pressure than a N/A car will anyway.

And who buys an automatic to mod it? If you were serious about hp gains you don't buy a car that is going to be limited by the torque converter. I would trade the car in and get the manual. Just wait because there will be plenty of mods available in the next year or so.

Maybe that reference was about another car model, currently you get 'some' from a decent exhaust and I have yet to see anybody prove an intake does much more than make noise..

this is my 3rd gen Rx-7 with intake and exhaust. exhaust includes a downpipe, highflow cat and catback. I had a computer which did nothing except add fuel to keep it from detonating. You will see it has 265 to the wheels. In stock form it has about 217 to the wheels.

This is after I removed the highflow cat and put a mid pipe. actually it dynoed at 298, but some tuning got to 316. thats 100 HP to the wheels.
