new engine cover doesn't magically change the location of your dipstick.

you were talking about buying a new cover from the dealer. That's why I said it wouldn't work. Good job on the post edit.

What do u mean the 9 is out ?

and you CANNOT mod the dip stick. the R3 RX-8 comes with a slightly different engine than the one we have. thats why the dip stick location has changed.

Aftermarket of course, with neon, and NOS of course. Or just save the money and stay stock. Seriously I love the look of your engine.

I don't mean to offend anyone by any means, but this thread fails. Sorry. It just does. What a joke. Seriously.

I don't even know what to say...I mean hell it's bright yellow, sell your car get a bike, good pair of shoes or a bus pass, you shouldn't be allowed around cars.

That is a pretty bad one. If it makes you feel any better I've had to point it out when I used to get my oil changed at Lube Stop.

Take off your engine cover and it's to the right of the yellow oil cap. Down below where the engine sits. It's a pain in the ****. You have to reach in pretty far so make sure your engine is cool.

Here's a pic of the '09 with a focus on the new dipstick in some of the pics but the location is basically the same as 04-08s - it's just harder to get to because it's closer to the ground.

Feel free to read this after you've found your dipstick and if you find it and there is a milky substance on it you're fine.
