Odula ram air intake installed

It's easy but requiring the removal of front bumper. The factory horizontal pipe is first removed, then you can inserted the pipe into the factory airbox. Only one drill is needed to fixed it on the car. The air now is directly aspirated from the grill. Not sure how effective it is, but it really bring funny sound (like cow's roar).

I order the intake pipe from japan include shipping to singapore around US$234, the intake roar sound ok to me, did not drill the hole, just used some cable tie to secure the pipe to the front impact bar of the car, do u feel any different in the performance of your car ?

Yes, you got it.
It really roars like "Mooooooo", esp in the low rpm range. The sound would become sharper after 5000rpm.
Its effect seems to be more prominent on high rpm, but I feel the the throttle response is also good at low range. The torque seems to be amplified a little.

Not exactly. You got two sheets of instruction(Japanese & English), one odula sticker and one catalog (one sheet only) with the pipe and hardness :p

I attached my photos (very poor in quality because I shoot them by my cellular phone) during the work for your reference

4 questions:

1. Where in Japan you can order them tems? zaku where do you find them in Taiwan?
2. Does water able to go in?
3. Does the stock front bumper have enough holes to let air though or you think I need to drill somemore on the top?
4. What happened to the variable valve in the front tube. Do you have to disconnect that?

1. www.japanparts.com may help, but I got my own by my friend.
2.Not sure water will go in or not, I have not yet driven my car under rain.
3. space is not problem. You have to remove the front bumper first, then remove the top covering of side tube. Side tube should be removed. Then the covering need cutting to allow the passage of the odula tube. Only one drill to fix a L shape metal plate.
4. I have no idea about the variable valve you say. May be it's due to my car is a AT one?

How much hp gain? Do you feel it is worth it? A little expensive for an intake.

I didnot do a dyno (No dyno machine available in my town). But I really felt the torque is amplified even in usual city driving. The accleration is really faster now.
I think the price is acceptable.
The following line is extracted from odula official website (not for advertisement, just for your reference). I use on-line translation tool for Japanese->English conversion. Some phrases are not properly translated, I have tried to correct them. some sentences are difficult to me for translation and I let them there. sorry for difficuty in reading.

USER S REPORT

Reference report - 1
Specifications: type S 6MT:
A difference with 400km normal: An explosive feeling of from 2 nd gear 7000 rounds per minute acceleration and a good point of a connection with 3rd gear. Acceleration at 2nd gear after7000rpm,even with MS suspension, the rear sinks is a difference to be clear to be normal. The power gain more than 5HP by bodily sensation is reliable. Even the straight that I 速 and did not receive for 4 easily entered four 速 so far. After 80km (a highway run) || of an accelerator in 6th gear (after 2500rpm) || was accompanied, and the mileage rose. It's a good news to me.

Reference report - 2
Specifications: type S 6MT
I ran for around 800km by sports runs at a type S 6MT drive mountain pass.
It is normal and the feeling that do not change in low speed area equal to or less than 3000 rpm from departure.
When I turned it to a high turn, an ordinary engine went around in front of ram air wearing, but I was powerful, and the wearing back came to turn around to レブリミット in イッキ. I can sense torque up bodily in the whole area if I start running. Feeling 13B as if I improved displacement volume for a feeling seems to have become 15B. A good point in particular is felt by start of an uphill section of mountain passes.
In addition, I can soak myself in the feeling that is 00 ○ キロオーバーサイコー in イッキ if I open an accelerator fully on highways. Because aspiration system grows well, the which engine does not have heard RX -8 with イイ badly, but ram air M thinks unless it applies to it at all.
I feel that there is not much デッメリット in ram air M wearing.

Reference report - 3
Specifications -AT
Breathing sound does not become big, and the mileage does not become bad (I think that the mileage improves if it runs quietly because torque improves): I tried to run for a type E AT town area, a highway, ワイディングロード, a circuit, but intend as having been able to sense an effect of powering it up bodily. As much as it is turned high as much as I become a high-speed run, an effect seems to be big. When one mounted Tpye-S with "changed so as to mistake it when I exceeded 6500 rounds per minute", I said. When it is 6500 rounds per minute because I am Type-E, it is ピーーーッ in no time.
There was able to be such a thing when I run on a highway after wearing soon. Because there was the car which approached from behind, I handed over a road and came back to an again original traffic lane. Though the feeling that would go for about the car was completely good by oneself, and intended to cruise as always || do "drive fast slightly?" When it considered it as 」, and it confirmed a speedometer, it was exaggerated speed more considerable than expectation. There seems to be an effect to power up from this experience.
I served as a test of ram air in take "M" and went for a drive in Osaka - Mt. Koya-san - dragon King - Kibi - Osaka. When before wearing was in a mountain path, I tended to run with a MT mode, but this time tried to run with a D range because it was hot with a D range. Then a drive with a D range is easy. "... っ, torque up してるじゃん!" 」.
What did not expect it in a powerful feeling and feeling of acceleration because I am AT, but think when even it "never accelerates" || often. Even if if do not feel it, mistake, powering it up do the air in take "M" wearing back || on acceleration at the time of a fully opening run at a circuit and a highway || think so that overtake it, and an effect appears by acceleration.
If even a town area run with a D range steps with some accelerators, a feeling to strongly step forward is the feeling that increased from before wearing. I seem to just slightly contribute to torque up in low turn area.
In addition, influence to A/F by quantity of aspiration increasing is not seen at all for the moment. Structure of a duct will be designed so that quantity of aspiration is settled in tolerance level of A/F.

Me too have order the Lock&Load's *****.... oops! the odula inake.

Me wants to have it installed and use sCANalyser at least to check the intake temp and MAF in controlled run? Anything else you want me to look at?

I am also getting a quote for pre and post dyno on the same day.

Will inform when I am doing it!
