G8rboy, I was just curious about the resonator you put on the RP Supercat. What kind of resonator did you get, where did you get it from, and who welded it into your Supercat (I am not familiar with the whole process of adding a resonator). I have the same cat-back system as you and was wanting to add some hp/tq as well as some added sound but I still didn't want for it to be to loud. In your opinion how much louder is it than just the greddy exhaust by itself? Overall how did you feel about this purchase?

Thanks in advance, this will help me a lot.

I had this resonator welded in... it's essentially an in-line muffler:

I think I paid $20-$30 at Midas to have it welded in.

I drove it for 2 days without the resonator and was nearly suicidal by day two... partially because of the loudness, and partially because the cheezy Bonez heat shield was buzzing horribly (which I had cut off). After the resonator, it's loud, but a good, aggressive, personal race-car tone. Have you ever heard a Star Mazda series Formula car? It's like that, but turned down quite a bit.

As for comparisons, I would say the Greddy + Super cat was about 60-70% louder than Greddy alone, and after adding the resonator the combination is about 30-40% louder than the Greddy alone.

Let's just say a year later, I absolutely love the sound of my car, and I haven't grown tired of the loudness at all. My wife complains sometimes when she takes it to pick up one of the kids at school because all the teenagers think she's a bad-*** even at light throttle... but deep inside I know she gets off on the loud rotary experience too : ).
