Look down at the bottom of this page and click on some of the "similar" links. After you read those, do it again.

I would suggest Borla if you are looking for a throaty exhaust. Theres plenty of info on this topic but it will require a little searching on your part. Also run a search on youtube for RX8 + exhaust. Your lucky I'm feeling nice today and didn't take out the flame thrower on you. Oh what the hell.............

Racing Beat or Borla if you're looking for a deeper but not much louder "full bodied" sound. Sample the many YouTube's out there, or better in person, as truly an ear of the beholder item.

spece: both of the threads you started today could have been answered with utilizing our forum's Search feature found underneath the banner towards the top of your screen.
I highly recommend you familiarize yourself with the Search feature as this forum is FULL of great input, you just need to know where to find it.

Believe me when I say this topic has been covered hundreds of times in the past and often in great detail with audio clips, reviews, etc.

Search is your new best friend.

I'm only basing this off of Youtube videos I've watched, and I know people always say videos don't do exhausts any justice, but from what I understand both Racing Beat and Borla aren't very deep and throaty. They're only slightly louder than stock and both have a clear, crisp tone to them. Midpipes can always change that, but I'm not sure if the OP is interested in dishing out extra money for one.

If you want a deep, throaty or "mean" sound coming from a catback exhaust alone and nothing else, look in to Exoticspeed, Agency Power, Magnaflow, or TurboXS. HKS Hi-Power also has an aggressive tone to it, and is pretty affordable at that, but it's also a single-outlet exhaust and many people aren't willing to give up an exhaust tip.

Good luck I guess. You really have to do your own research when it comes to stuff like this, as there are a ton of combinations once you dip into the world of midpipes and hi-flow cats. They can quiet down mean exhaust or make a subtle exhaust scream. Put some time into looking at other people's setups and figure out what'll work best for you.

If this car is really a Series II, as would be implied by where the thread was posted, I believe the only aftermarket choice currently is Racing Beat, no?

Plus a handful of japanese ones and some others that could be easily fitted by a good shop

Good fit, good sound, good price, and least amount of work (for S2) = RB

Just get one for an 04-08 and have the tips lowered for $25.00 at a muffler shop. I have a 2010 catback in my garage that I slapped on my car for ***** and giggles and it fit perfectly except the tips sat too low and hit the bottom of my exhaust shrouds.

Cheers for that fella.

Just one more thing.......would moving the tips mean a different note?????

also would the rubber holders etc have to be moved or different ones fitted etc.

Cheers much appreciated.
I have been waiting for Borla to get their acts together for nearly a year now.

Thanks
