My cat went out had one to buy but the guy sold it.

Need either an OEM, hi-flow, or super.

RP highflow cat, MUCH cheaper then a new OEM.

 

Yeah i had seen this one a tad bit pricey though...

said it will pass smog which is a plus but mayne $400

 

considering there aren't many aftermarket cats available for our cars and the cost of an OEM cat, the RP is a bargain.

 

Sorry to thread jack but how does one tell if the cat is going back or not? I have suspicion that my cat is going bad but there are no solid signs.

 

Power loss, prevalent gas smell, CEL.

Take it out and visually inspect it.

 

Will be doing that soon. No CEL though. I noticed that my RX8 sounds slightly different also including slight power loss. It sounds like an old FC or FB coming from where the cat is. Idles and starts up just fine though.

 

You forgot "glowing red" after a decent ride.

 

i know i have a misfire and im going to fix that but i also want to make sure my cat is bad.
also does a misfire cause the car 2 like kid of sputter on startup, my cel just blinks like 2wice and then the car runs fine
