Im looking for responses from people who have a midpipe.

Hey guys, Im not the most mechanical person. So I went to the dealership I work at after hours with a buddy who is a Nissan Tech to install my midpipe. Anyways while Im driving it next to a wall or a barrier, it makes a hissing sound when I floor it. Ive never driven without a cat so I dont know if thats normal or if theres a possible leak. The exhaust is very quiet even with the midpipe. I still hear my K&N over the exhaust so I dont think its leaking but Im not sure. Does your midpipe make any noises like that while next to a wall or in general? Thanks guys

did he transfer the donut gasket from the old cat to the new midpipe?

Generally the pipe won't hiss. It ill drone more than anything else.

Sounds like your gasket stuck to the cat, and the midpipe got put on gasketless....

It was put on gasketless in the front, and we used the same gasket for the rear. After we put it on, we felt around it and there were no leaks. Its a very mild hissing, its not like loud, I only notice it when Im next to a wall or if I pay really close attention on a quiet road. Plus its not loud at all, if it was leaking, wouldnt it be really loud?

Well, I notice a certain hissing sound like air passing through when Im at a certain RPM but I really don't think its a leak. I put on the pipe myself with the donut gasket and was sure to tighten everything down. Like I said, for me this hissing is only audible when Im at a certain throttle. I have the MS cai, racing beat test pipe, and hks single.

Oh, seem to have answered your question yourself! If it were a leak you would most likely hear a tic tic tic noise...

If it is potentially leaking, will it harm anything for me to drive it like this until Monday? I was going to go to San Fransisco which is a 220 mile round trip today.....

Yea, its only audible at about 4K when I punch it
