My list of planned mods

After a VERY long hiatus from this site due to being a broke college kid, I have returned to seek the infinite wisdom and advice from the decorated and respected members of this community once again. how's it going everyone?

anyways, here are a list of mods I have hastily thrown together that I feel will address a few of the problems that stocks RX-8's suffer from:

mazdaspeed springs/shocks
cobb accessport from mazdamaniac
performance radiator (have not determined which brand to go with yet)
BHR ignition upgrade
pulleys (have not decided which brand to go with yet)

In addition to the upgrades above I plan to add, I currently have the following mods already in place for an N/A setup:
Royal Purple 5W-30 for the engine
Royal Purple 75W-90 for the transmission and differential
Optima Red Top battery
removed the fins that restrict airflow inside the Airbox
K&N air filter

Any suggestions? comments? Please, any input would be greatly appreciated.

is the car a daily driver, autox, stock race, what?

from your list i'm going to say daily driver in which case the mods sound fine.

I have the MS struts and springs. gave a nice drop and werent very spendy
the AP is always a good choice if you like knowing what's going on with your car
I'd be hard pressed to understand that rad unless you're having issues with your stocker
Love me the BHR coil kit, one of the weakest parts and easiest to replace
Pulleys? If you're going for a little engine bay bling, sure

Not going to touch oil choices, too many threads on that
Battery is another thing to replace if your current one is sketchy
Airbox mod is free and easy
K&N filters some people love em, some dont

I am curious, what do you plan to do with your car?

I plan to run a street/daily driver 8 with the occasional day at the track or so.

1) for now, I wish to replace weak parts (such as the absolute garbage OEM ignition system) and generally replace parts that I feel could see some room for improvement.

2) At an undetermined date, I plan to turbo this engine.

thanks for the comment by the way, always good to have some help/insight, even if you think you know everything.

Good list. Laythor has the same reply that I would have given.
Another thing you may want to do is read this thread and consider some of these options- Congratulations, you got an 8 https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-forum-197/congratulations-you-got-8-a-202548/

praise would make me feel warm and fuzzy inside, but i need to get this car proper, even if it means taking a few licks.

The best advice I could give to anyone with questions on modding their car would be to "site:rx8club.com themodyourplanning" on google for anything you're thinking of doing. In case it's not clear "themodyourplanning" would actually be what mod you're planning.

It will help out with at the very least giving you some tips on doing it right and maybe even helping you decide how and in what order to do your mods

I've tried using the search function and not all of it matches with the one i've wanted to search.

most people just don't know how to use it properly, but that said researching anything requires patience and effort because more often then not you are looking for a needle in a haystack

if the "DIY: How to use the Search function" thread wasn't locked I'd add a number of tips to it

^Ask a mod to unlock, or make a new one to be merged?
Either way, pretty pointless, because people will still either refuse to search, or assume/insist that their issue is different.
