NA : Team rx8 hit about 220whp
Turbo : Mazsport has hit 360whp+
Supercharged : One of the Pettits got just over 300whp
Nitrous : Taj got an extra 40hp with nitous (only dyno i've seen)

 

Supercharger (petitte im talking about) said they are bringing out a stage 3. Now i know nothing about the kit but when i was speaking to them (uk counterpart) they mentioned for a stage 3 you need to uprate fuel pump, rals etc, so im assuming the stage 2 hasn't got that in the kit, so they should see a big increase with a stage 3.

this question is very simple.

Why cant we use a biger turbo than the mazsport one?

At the end of the day is the renny housing, rotors and tips not slightly better than the rew engine and there are plenty of them pushing 400 on basic mods

 

the Mazsport one is "400hp capable" it just has not been done yet .
It will happen one day - once they work out how to tune it for that hp .

 

Bigger isn't better.

The 3071R turbo in my car can go to 380-400 whp range, but I don't do it. No way I'm going to increase the boost over 12. I don't need it. And I don't trust pump gas on 10:1 compression enough.

 

Maybe not bigger but a more powerful turbo. To be honest i know nothing about the theory other than how it works. So anything about designing kits is over my head which is why im asking. What is restricting the renny engine

team's car has no AC, and lots of stuff has been *Stripppppppped* out for weight savings

 

he has a custom self built exhaust manifold, custom self built exhaust, customized CAI (which i have dibs on if he will ever send it to me. ), lightweight rims, probably pullies and every other single hp gaining mod, no matter how infinitesimal.

i think he said 226whp btw. but the only dyno he posted was 222whp.

 

yea but that for an NA rx8 is pretty damn good haha

anyways I will hopefully reach 300whp with a 100 shot nitrous one of these days if i ever get the F'ing EMU to run properly with nitrous on......

 

how are you going to put a 100 shot into a 1.3l engine? we just dont have the displacement taj...

diaso (sic) track car runs the renasis engine. it is FI ed has over 420 hp and almost 300 of torque.
