Your numbers are wrong, those sites are lying.

When Speedsource ran RX-8s in the Koni ST class of Grand-Am racing series, the best intake they found was the AEM/Mazdaspeed (same thing) intake, providing 1hp over stock. However, it let sand into the engine causing them to lose several engines, so they switched back to the OEM intake.

There is nothing to gain and plenty to lose. Save your money, stick with OEM.

Hmm. I'm sorry for saying they are lying. That was harsh.

How about: "they are marketing a product using misleading information that has no basis on actual research performed on our car."

The FTC calls that lying.

I dont wanna attack for the question..... but Intakes are not worth the money.. had 2 of them , didnt see any difference beside couple extra miles from the tank. Stick with stock box and get your self a K&N filter.

The k&n filter 'works' by having bigger holes for the air. These bigger holes let in more than just air, meaning it's not really as good of a filter any more. Stick with oem. You aren't gaining anything by switching.

The RX-8 doesn't have factory restrictions built in.

So stock panel filters are best ,what about the foam hks panel filters?

does the snorkle from ebay or racing beat make a difference and does it bolt to the stock box?

Use this so that you don't have stalling issues when it rains.

I think i know what he wants.... The Mazdaspeed intake adds an extra 45hp while the ebay one adds at least 75hp and half the price.

Yup, unless you add the stickers that are included, then the number doubles and gives you added bewst!

THANKS TO THE SMART COMMENTS

I ask only because Im new. i have a mini post count. Im not a Idiot that buys a random car and says Humm its fast lets add **** for the fun of it.

I read the responses, Aem and Mazdaspeed are the chosen from one persons standpoint. But allow debris to enter the motor . K&n panel does the same.

I understand the Stock Is good and flows well now. So im still on page.

I ask about the Revi Snorkle because it channels the air to the airbox, and so doe the fiberglass ebay one.

I love rotarys and ever since the 86 gxl that i swapped to a full 89 streetported t2 i was hooked.

The rx8 engine is a little different on how it responds to mods.compared to my old T2. Thats why I ask things and I ALWAYS read up before I ask.

Smart/rude comments cause new people to look down on certain forums.

I'm guessing "smart" is either sarcasm, or you don't actually like intelligent replies...

But either way, this post....

...wasn't what generated the "negative" comments.

It was this one AFTER we gave you the information you were looking for, ignoring what was posted.

I asked about the snorkles, because It kind of involved the same subject, of intakes.

I Accept all the comments light hearted but posting jeep snorkles and junk is kind of off topic considering it isnt a off road forum, or a comedic forum.

I am glad for the quick responses. just dont like people acting like im dumb.

stickers dont add hp, neither do ebay resistor chips,

or most mods people add without adjustments of the ecu, Im not a newb to Cars just the renesis engine.

I had already answered your question.

You are taking it personally because you are the only one behind your keyboard. And for that I'm sorry.

However, this is why we react the way we do (posted elsewhere, to someone else like yourself, at an earlier date)

Imagine somebody coming here daily, in fact it is often multiple people daily, asking if not demanding the same information over and over again. We are not your on demand servants. We are people just like you with other priorities and demands in our lives, limited time, our own personal interests for being here, etc. Why should we spend that time catering to people that come here seeking instant gratification?

That leaves us with two options. We can either ignore you completely or we can tell that the info is here if you bother to make the effort. However, over several years of telling people this you eventually get fed up dealing with the continuous stream of people seeking instant gratification yet you still would rather point them in the right direction so you just bark at them to get the point across. Imagine someone coming to your house, going to your living room, pulling their pants down, and taking a dump right there on the carpet just because they didn't know any better. You might be annoyed and yet also understanding because they didn't know any better. Now imagine this being a different person doing this every day. It wouldn't be long before you just as soon they go away and never come back.

Almost every day there is some clueless dolt posting a tech or troubleshooting question in the DiY area, despite there being a sticky thread at the top saying to only post threads there with DIY instructions and subsequent discussion of same. The real issue is that people think they are free to just come here and do as they damn well please and there's no need for etiquette, rules, structure, or organization unless it serves their own personal interest.

Well guess what? We're not here to cater to new uninformed people that come in here trampling all over everything regardless if they're ignorant, just don't care, or whatever. This is like any social community and so if you make waves you better expect to deal with it. If you don't like it then get the f' out because the established community could care less about some newbie whining about not getting what they want immediately. We do care about you clogging up the search engine with useless threads on already established subjects, which there is a dedicated thread on this very subject in this same forum area no less. It took me 10 minutes to explain this. Now imagine multiple people daily requiring it, so you make a Sticky thread at the top that says "read this first" and yet every single new person just like yourself thinks they are beyond trying to fit in properly so that this forum operates smoothly for all of us.

You probably don't read Japanese, but the line in my sig is a well known Japanese proverb that reads "the nail that sticks out gets hammered". You made yourself that nail.

Seriously... you stated in your first post that you searched; while I will admit that this site is not the most organized, this is basic info that is repeated over and over. And like what was said above, why ask for information, only to ignore said info, then get mad for being teased? PLUS, being teased can be seen as a positive; so many of the pictures posted up making fun of people are HILARIOUS. I find myself laughing even when they are aimed at me.
