I read somewhere on here about a custom wiring job that makes it work. But I don't remember where...

Did you call them and ask if this will wire up to the RX8? See if they will send you the wiring instructions so we can review them.

What the car does when it goes through this " learning mode" is this:

- You get into the car and try to start her and nothing happens, doesn't turn over and there isn't any juice (IE. no lights).
- Take the key back out and make sure the doors are shut.
- Now wait a few minutes and power will be supplied again.
- Put the key back in and start!
- No more CEL.

I know this has been talked about before. There are a few that have said there isn't any need for the O2 fooler like Superscout and a few others a can't remeber at the moment.
try a search for "midpipe".
So what you are saying is that it will go tru this "learning mode" sometime when its ready and could take months?
I did the midpipe search and read most of the threads but never really came to a final answer on what works best or even at all. Thanks for your help tho.I just installed my midpipe w/no Cat and w/a resonator last night and my CEL came on after about 15 miles.Ill wait and see what happens.

Did you have to to do the reset thing where you pump the break 15 times in 8 seconds or what not?

I did the reset thing if you are talking to me but I read some were there is another reset way and you have to turn your wheels all the way to the right and then all the way to the left.Does anyone know what that does if anything at all?In another thread I read this guy said he went to his dealer and got them to hard reset his ECU and then his CEL was gone..

You have got to be kidding me. That means your battery cable is loose. Go tighten them down. There is no process where your car will randomly act like it has no juice. Your car really had no "Juice". The reason your cell was cleared, was because your ECU lost power.

And no... your ECU will not learn out the CEL. I had mine for 3 months with CEL and the only time it went off was after installing the CASPER unit. The RP unit was completely useless and only resulted in my hacking the crap outta my $150 O2 sensor.

Also as far as the dealer hard reset. Been there tried that... 5 miles later... Hello CEL. Maybe you have a Magic 8, but for those of us whom have one that was bought from a dealer and paid for with money, instead of pencil shavings, you need to do something about your O2 sensor.

The only people whom have had success getting by without a O2 sensor fooler are people who have tuned the car's ecu extensively. So something to think about. I have not tried removing the casper unit since adding my emanage. But since it isn't broke.... I am not going to try and fix it.
