Seems like some people encounter the mazsport midpipe being to close to the crossmember braces and requires the use of spacers. Doesn't the spacers reduce the effectiveness of the braces?

I am looking at adding the autoexec body and transmission stiffeners. By the looks of it they are more intrusive into the exhaust space than stock braces so would need an even larger spacer to fit with the mazsport midpipe.

Any ideas? Wondering if its the quality control of the midpipe (hand welded i'm assuming so there will be some variance from one pipe to the next resulting in some people having clearance issues) or if its a change from the 04 to the 08 model years for exhaust routing?

Really not looking to having to take a cutting wheel or torch to my 8 to make things fit.

i know this might sound retardd.. but will this allow flames to pop out with the catback setup also? is this considered to be "high flow cat" and you have to beable to feel some HP gain with this correct?

YES!

NO, its just a straight pipe with two resonators. Also, you'll receive a CEL
(and I'm waiting for TeamRX8 to chime in about how you'll kill our o-zone which isn't a lie, he just gets fired up on this topic )

I have an 89 dollar ODBC2 meter to clear mine, once cleared, it stays gone.

BTW: the code it gives in ODBC2 is "420"

I think the clearance issue is due to the mid-pipe being made to fit the Mazsport motor mounts which raise the engine 3/4 inch.
Also, you may get strange A/F fluctuations with this if you get the 3 inch model, I think(WAG) it has to do with the front resonator being near the manifold O2 sensor.

I did go from 254 RWHP to 296 RWHP with this and a REV8 exhaust.

That might explain a few things.

Hey Scott, can you confirm this?

ah, i didnt see in your sig at first that you are boosted
really???? thats strange cause someone here has put the renesis on an engine dyno and COMPLETELY removed the exhaust altogether and didnt pick up even half that much power.....

that combo must be some sort of magical duo to flow better than no exhaust at all

Is there anyway to get the Dual Resonator Mid Pipe thats meant for stock engine mounts(for us NA guys)?

Also why are the mazsport mounts an extra 3/4 inch up? That would raise the center of gravity. Unless they are meant to accomodate turbo plumbing?

I think 3/4" is not even close. It seems to move the engine back little bit, and there is no way it raised it more than a 1/4" if that. Otherwise my intake would be slamming into my Mazdaspeed Strut tower non-stop.

will it harm anything not putting the braces back in as far as body rigidity goes?

Why bother? I have installed this into a "normal" NA 8 without incident. If it isn't fitting, are your mounts blown? I installed on an 04 though.

I have an 07 MT Rx8. I got the 3/4 inch from an earlier post. I would hate to have to lower the crossmember brace as a lot of the driveways here are pretty steep. Hate to rack it on a chunk of concrete and bend or break it.

Will have to get out the tape measure and see if that lowering spacer would put it below the MS bodykit.

Does Scott tend to wait until the end of the week to ship everything out at once or does he send them out as they are built?

The variation in catbacks, turbo manifolds and headers on the market effect the position of the midpipe. The spacers which will lower the brace by aprox. 5/8 of an inch are not required on all exhaust systems. That said, we will be including spacers with all midpipes for those of you that need them. Scott

It's only the rear brace that is my issue. Currently I have that one brace off the car since it got mangled from me placing it too low. I could use your spacers when you get a chance to read this thread again.

Yup.... still waiting....

((EDIT))

Ok, well I just got off the phone with MazSport and guess what, they are still waiting on parts even though I got this PM 5/27/2008.

"We received parts! Are you back in the country or still out working?

We are going a million miles an hour over here, Scott"

Ok so here's the good news (maybe) they expect the pre silencers to be in at the latest on Friday and they will start building.
But, unfortunately for me this whole episode has completely turned me off of their products, from the shipping issues on the pipes, and ignition set, the dwell issues that were not disclosed on the ignition sets, and finally the run around that I've been getting. I have never had to wait this long for something I've ordered, and I've ordered things while in Iraq. I will however be glad when it gets here and I hope it will be well made and have no fitment issues. The big thing is, I don’t like to be fed bull.

I apologize for the delay, we did receive part of our order and expect the remainder to be in this week. We have built and shipped as many units as we could and in the order they were purchased. This item is in high demand and when I sent you the pm I was not looking at the build sheet to see where you were on the list. Again I apologize for the delay. Scott
