MazdaSpeed V2 exhaust with FI - sufficient?

Is anyone using the MazdaSpeed V2 exhaust with an FI solution? If so, I could use your thoughts.

Since this exhaust is a 2.5" exhaust (from what I've been reading, correct me if I am wrong), I am wondering if it is sufficient for use with most FI setups or if it will not flow enough.

I'd like to get this exhaust for now since most others are too loud (cops are really ****** here about this stuff) but I am planning on going FI next year so I wouldn't want to get something that I'd have to re-buy.

This is the reason why I'm selling my exhaust this weekend.

No one has actually documented the necessity, but 2.5" on a turbo rotary is not going to cut it in my books. Our cars and engines emit enough exhaust gas to even consitute a 3" pipe on a non-turbo car.

I love how the MS exhaust sounds for a NA car. It's subtle but you can really hear it if you open it up. Basically, everything I wanted in an exhaust for this car.

With new plans......comes new changes.

I traded my old MS v2 exhaust to a guy who put it on his turbo'd 8. Never talked to him though to see how it worked.

Maybe look into the racing beat exhaust, I believe Ngo has that exhaust it is 3" and will be quiet until you get that turbo on.

it will be fine so long as you are not trying to make 400whp+ .
Any free flowing aftermarket setup will be good -
the cat is the only real obstacle for FI in the stock exhaust system .....

It WILL work that's for sure.

But it's not optimum that is all. You'll make more power off a 3" pipe than a 2.5" pipe especially if it's a turbocharged car.

not enough to be worth bothering about on a 300whp car - way more important stuff to worry about than 2.5" vs 3" ...................

Thanks for the info all.

I also have my eye on a 3" exhaust but that one needs to wait for a while. I may just run a year on the stock exhaust until it gets sorted out.
