It's a standard renisis that came stock on my '04. I have friends in the racing division for MazdaSpeed. They said they have the parts nesissary to do the upgrade. I thought I was clear, but I guess I was wrong. What exactly don't you guys get about this thread?

The fact that there is no 3 rotor Renesis engine.

We were asking what in fact you are actually doing. There is a 20b NON-RENESIS engine/parts available, but no Renesis one.

And what the f do you mean by "the parts necessary to do the upgrade" exactly? I don't really think you know fully what you're doing. You will need an entire engine and all the accessories/etc associated. You realize you cant just take your current 2 rotor and add parts to make it into a 3 rotor, right? Well you could, but it'd be very difficult. Extra housing, extra rotor, extra iron, redesigned port location on some of the irons, longer eccentric shaft, and so on and so forth.

So what is it? A normal 20b? Are you trying to build a 3 rotor renesis (laugh)? Are you buying the entire 20b engine or are you "building" your own?

That's what was unclear.

Chuckle Chuckle, O.K. maybe I dont speak very well, and for that I apologise. I'll try to be a little bit clearer...............I have aquaintences that are techs for MAZDASPEED and they informed me that I CAN add to my egsisting engine, which happens to be a RENISIS engine. So if they, being MAZDASPEED techs, say that the Renisis can be made into a 3 rotor, I'm inclined to believe them. If you are unable to comprehend this I apologise. Thats why I started this thead.......to understand what is involved. If the majority cany grasp this, than foget this thread and desist posting in it. Thank you to the few who were helpful!

I just think you're full of crap honestly. If you can prove to me you're telling the truth, then more power to you, but otherwise I call BS.

Furthermore, if you have these acquaintances that are "techs" for Mazdaspeed, why are you even asking us what parts are needed? If these techs you claim to know are telling you it can be done, why not ask them what's needed!? Wouldn't they be the right ones to get the parts from? And part numbers? And answer any and all of your questions?

OK, we're seen plenty of threads where some guy is BSing. That said, why do we have to assume it's that way from the start? There are a few threads by people who are interested in this concept. In fact, I might be selling my engine to another member on here to help him in his 3-rotor RENESIS experiment. We'll see what if anything comes of that, depends on what I decide to do with whats left of my car.

Let's assume for the moment that is *IS* possible. Afterall, it's basically just another rotor and intermediate housing, custom e-shaft and intake manifold and exhaust header. Sure, it's a lot of custom work, but it's just as feasible as ripping out a RENESIS and installing a turbo'd 20b.

Asking him to prove somethng on saturday afternoon, and esp at 10pm is kind of stretching the "proove it" attitude a bit far, IMHO.

Personally, I'm going to reserve judgement until later. I'd rather put trust in someone and be proven wrong (when I have nothing to lose), than be the loudest voice shouting "nay" and be proven wrong. With the first method, there's usually fewer people to throw back into your face...

nobody shouted BS at Richard Paul when he said he was thinking of building an S/C, and he wasn't the first to get on the board and suggest plans to develop an FI kit for the RX-8... give him a chance.

Lets just "assume" that its possible.

How much it will cost? from what I "see" right now. I must take my words back b4.

Its going to cost you. at least another "full" price of a rx8- Oh yes

and you know what you should do? if you can, use your time to work on the project but I can telll you your "Mazdaspeed" friend are just full of bull.

Either him, or you misunderstand something.

Ok keep trying and "Suprise" us !

This isn't going to help with the doubters amongst the group... an exhaust is probably one of the last things I would worry about considering everything else that would need to be done for such a conversion. Even beyond the obvious motor components, I would be concerned with how I'm going to do the other custom stuff like ECU, ignition, fuel, intake/exhaust manifolds, mounting, etc. long before a a bolt-on like the exhaust.

I have a picture of my exhaust in a box, but that doesn't mean I'm going to throw another rotor under my hood.

This is the picture he sent me. Got a little blurred on the resize, but yah it's just a picture of a box so a little blurr doesn't matter.

I still don't really see what this proves. Mazdaspeed makes 2 exhausts for the rx8 already. So how does this make it for a 3 rotor? I'm confused, seriously. Obviously you can use the Mazdaspeed catback exhausts even if it was a 3 rotor or a 2 rotor, doesn't matter, so I don't see what this proves.
