Thanks man. But still have no idea how ram air intake look like.
Does the setting same as K&N + RB ram air duct?
For new filter, I dont know if NY area has Kragen or not.
I saw K&N look alike with half price in red, white or blue Cotton 4" inlet, comes with 3" and 2.5" adaptor. That should fit.
My friend has one on her turbo bug, works fine.

or stainless steel dry filter with same spec. (the box said for will offer higher flow, for track only)

Link also offer K&N too.

i have had both......klepto has my old RE and i have the new version K&N.....they are about the same.....but the RE works better in klepto's application because of his modded bumper
I said I did with the stock intake and still can with with K&N. I haven't done any Dino tests to prove any gains or lost hp but it still feels strong and if it messes up the fuel trim etc shouldnt my MIL come on or something? And yes you're right I'm a noob and lovin it
I mean I learn something new from all u guys everytime. I like it
At idle, ur iat will shoot up for sure.
When the car is moving, if with stock vfad, iat will still be higher
With rb duct, iat when moving is about the same as stock.
This is coming from the first guy who bought this intake b4 anyone else in the states(self claim)
Car will be 10 times louder for sure.
For the price, i would use it on buying new stock filter and replace it every 10k miles. That way u will get the best performance all the time

thanks for searching.
our boy is growing up
aem/mazdaspeed and revi with revi duct are the most common intakes people go with and have been shown to provide power gains. Though the stock airbox is fine unless you want a noise maker / shiny tube in your engine bay.

oh yea!! (:
My car came with the K&N and I can confirm it gets completely hot. Mostly because of how 'short' it is and also because it doesn't pull cold air from anywhere.. However, I've heard of issues with the AEM getting wet on car washes, so I don't know how reliable that can be.
You could do a couple of adjustments so you can actually get cold air into the filter instead of the hot air already in the bay, combine that with a good heat-shield and you have a loud stock intake.

Unless you like driving over 1ft deep water puddles there are no problems with an AEM intake. It's just the usual forum paranoia.
