Just Got Me Some Borla Exhaust

A couple of weeks ago I got a Borla cat back exhaust system installed on my RX-8. I managed to get my car up on a lift the other day so I figured I would post some pics.

This is the 2nd time I switched out the cat back exhaust on my car and I must say that I am even happier with this exhaust that when I switched out the stock setup. My old exhaust was a chopped together magnaflow system. It was very harsh sounding and made popping sounds a lot compared to the Borla. My new exhaust sounds very refined and tuned compared to the magnaflow and much more open compared to my stock system. Needless to say I like my new exhaust and I have never heard my RX-8 sing so beautifully.

your's looks great installed. glad you like it. I had installed a borla exhaust on my 8 about 5 months ago, i like it too except for one thing... one tip sticks out about two inches farther than the other. though you can only see the difference if you are actually looking at it.

i like the sound too. no test pipe here, but i got a k/n intake. makes the car sound alittle more muscular

glad to hear of another happy camper!! and good to know that Borla makes a product that fits so well.

nice man! Borla is the best i think.. after a while I got use it the borla, so i put a midpipe on it. but it sounds amazing... If you are looking for a midpipe.. Shookmotorsports.com makes 2 for our car... SR for $280 and a DR for $350... I have the DR one and it is so nice..

IF any of you guys with borla and your tips are getting dull.. Borla makes some amazing polish for them.. Yeah it is a little more expensive, but it is worth it..

^YouTube videos don't do much justice for the Borla exhaust. I have one and also made a compairson video when It was installed. But since my camera quality was not the best...the sound did not turn out great.

The Borla is louder than stock definitally, but in a good way. It has a very low, deep sound. Trust me, you will love the Borla.

Had a Borla, then a Mazdaspeed V2. The Borla definitely is more composed then the Mazdaspeed.

I'm sure the Borla is an exceptional exhaust in practice, but for some reason the routing of the piping just looks too busy to me compared to the Mazdaspeed. Plus I think I like the MS dual cannisters better. But then, it's just an exhaust, which you rarely see other than the tips, and how it works should be the determining factor.

+1. I wasn't too fond of the way Borla routed the piping and that turned me away from buying it, but after hearing the exhaust in person, I forgot about the pipe routing lol. I love mine!
