JIC exhaust? vs. borla.

i was just wondering -- i'm looking to trade my borla exhaust for a JIC ti tip, SS exhaust... is the JIC reputable w/ good feedback from the members on this forum?

what are the impressions on it vs. the borla exhaust?

also, where is the cheapest place i can buy the JIC SS exhaust w/ Ti Tips?

any help appreciated.

JIC issupposed to be one of the most reputable companies in Japan. Borla has a very good reputation with exhausts as well. Look at : www.mazdaparts.com or www.rx8store.net.

I heard JIC is the most quiet exhaust available. If you're looking for increased sounds, this isn't for you. But JIC makes great products, so I'm sure if you're not looking for sound, it would be a great exhaust.

If you have the RP supercat unit, that doesn't have a resonator on it. If you are running that & a Borla exhaust the JIC exhaust will be quite a bit quieter. The Borla is one of the louder exhausts.

i love the borla as well... but since i'm putting a kit in, i want a more aggressive look. The borla looks nice from the side, but from the rear, the pipe looks a bit small since it's not a thin pipe!

I guess i'll just stick to the Borla... Also, i just noticed that the JIC exhaust has a pretty ugly muffler, although the Ti tips are very attractive.

i might change the exhaust -- although i love the sound now... but at cruising, the noise is just annoying. I do love the idle that i have now though...

BIU, how much, and which type of JIC exhaust did you purchase??

if those were your choices i'd go JIC. Then again I have the HKS Legamax and love it.

I have a JIC coming in today. Idle sound will not really be affected. The differences become noticeable at cruising & WOT.

Than it would be perfect for you! The legamax is not that loud. It's louder than the racing beat exhaust, but not as loud as Greddy's. And the quality is top notch.

They have a special on Ebay right now for $799 for the HKS unit. Don't know if that is in your ballpark (but much better than retail of over $1,000).
