The Interceptor-X for N/A Cars
I said reliable power at 12.8-13.0 to 1. If a winning road race motor last's 5,000 miles you are doing very,very well. Running on the edge may attain an extra 10rwhp and could be a fender length on the opponent by the end of the straight away. It is a balance, engine life V.S. power. I am always a little consevative with customers cars (unless they are standing next to me saying More,More) so 12.8-13.0 to 1 has tradionally worked quite well. Scott

Yes you will. And the really nice part is, with the Interceptor once you have dialed it in IT STAYS THAT WAY!

Personally I'd rather see full advance at full throttle somewhere around 25-26 degrees.
RG, Set the leading advance to the specific RPM/Load value you choose, then adjust the split based on RPM. I have always found 24-26 good on 13b N/A motors, bridgeports and PP's are a little different.

Alright I cannot keep quite about this, Skud Runner has allowed me to use his Rx-8 for the N/A testing. I plugged a unit in and fired it up last night! If everything goes well we will be on the Dyno saturday. Thought you would like to know,Scott

Scott, I like about 25-26 degrees total advance on a stock or streetport 13B. Split I start at a fixed 10 degrees across the board and then adjust from there. Generally I initially shoot for between 12.6-13.0:1 afr's so it appears that our techniques are very similar. Since I haven't tuned a Renesis yet I'd just start with what I know and go from there.

You have control over, well, everything required to increase the performance of your engine. Ignition timing values may be adjusted at RPM,Boost/manifold values,air temp,water temp and split. The Interceptor system is giving the user more control over more components than anything available.

If your hitting the knock sensor you won't hear it knock, timing would be be pulled immdeiately to prevent it.

As soon as you lean the mixture a bit with CZ, canscan would show that advance goes from 26 - 30 in some ranges. What I was trying to say was, have an ECU controller that keeps it straight in the 30's, so we dont have to add advances when we get the AFR curves stable.

I'd investigate the knock sensor aspect of things

... i should also add I usually don't have my afr's that high for daily driving, actually closer to 13.0 which seems to work fine with 89 octane

since i'm new to all this (tuning)..how did your car run with your afr runnign up and down like that? i woudl think that wouldn't make teh engine too happy..but i'm new as i said? just trying to learn
