If I got shot by a bullet, I would be catchy too... Doesn't mean I should make a song.

not many mods actually increase performance, stock intake box is fine with a green air filter or K&N(green preferred). But if your looking for sound go get the AEM intake, its pretty dam loud and its CARB legal which is very important if you live in CA. Midpipes/test pipes are definitely ilegal and don't do much for HP gains unless you are FI. I'd say get the BHR ignition coils, and cob AP with MM tune, you'd prolly get more hp from that.

My Agency Power midpipe made the car a lot more fun to drive, so I wouldn't say they don't do much for power. Broadens the powerband a lot. Very good mod really.

I'm gonna give a try for the AEM, and i'm gonna put my test pipe too.

"BHR ignition coils ? " I'l make some research about it.

You won't regret the AEM intake for sound. I just slapped mine on saturday.. It makes driving more fun haha. It really starts to make noise around 5500 to 6k. I stood outside my car when my buddy revved it.. its loud..

Bad news guys, i hit a raccoon and my front bumper cover and grill is all fucked...

1-i can pay 450$ to repair the front bumper and put a new grill. Plus i bought an after market front lip on ebay for 175$.
2-Or totally replace all parts for new oem= 1000$

What should i do ? should i just repair it ?
So i will wait for aem intake, need to repair first...

I hate those little ******* with no brain that decide to cross the road at the same moment someone pass with a car, suicide...

Does anyone know if you get a mazdaspeed cold air intake and have it installed by a dealer if that will void the engine warranty?

^ No it won't
and even if you install it, it shouldn't void the warranty.

With Mazdaspeed intake, you should never have any issue with ANY dealership

unless ... the dealership is loaded with morons. which happens quite often ...

One of the mechanics was trying to convince me that it would mess with the air-to-fuel ratio and that the engine wasn't tuned for that kind of flow. He basically told me that the RX-8 was tuned very specifically and messing with that would cause eventual engine problems.

I must be socially inept, because I don't get the song or ugly girl movie.

Am very curious on the MS intake though. Big $$ and no power gains? Geez, its like modding a single cam civic all over again.

So, the consensus is to keep the stock airbox and mod it, unless you want a 1hp improvement and some noise, then buy an intake? Call me a ricer, but ill be buyin an intake.

Intakes, in my mind, get their real sense when adding to a full exhaust line, custom mapping and ignition upgrade, all these works well in addition with each other, take them separatly and they'll be quite useless, intake beeing the worst in that case, always in my mind.
